      small update.

since one of my smilies day time running lights went out, i ordered a new set of led type bulbs to replace the old stock ones. figured, i'd try and match the hids the best i could.

      problem:
      blown bulb

      new bulbs:

      installed:

the new bulbs caused fuse 22 to blow so i upgraded from a 7.5 to a 15amp.
now everything works great and it matches my 6k hids.

i did like the ride height on the spaxx. ive never owned hr races, but i know that they were definitely softer than hr sport. but i will probably be upgrading the jom coils for some german engineering coils with shortened strut housings with probably 475f/750r.

tailights were simple. just do tons of prepping, taped the reverse light up and then around everything. then we sectioned off the amber corners and did 4 light coats i believe, leaving to dry thoroughly, then removed the sectioned off portion and hit the entire thing with 3 coats i believe, and then hit it with some gloss enamel and then let it cure for a day or so and then wet sand and buff.

                update.

got the cluster all finished up.
i replaced the si batteries as my tach and mpg guages weren't working sometimes and the service lights would never reset. also painted the needles red and added some cluster rings. on to pics.

                before:

                tools of the trade.
(mind the testors metalic silver, wasn't sure if i was going to like white)

                old batteries.

                batteries removed.

                new batteries installed.
im using 700mAh batteries instead of the stock 500mAH ones, so it should last longer.

                painted needles red.
forgot to snap pictures of the process.

                cluster rings on.

didn't like the chrome look so i removed them and sprayed them white.

                finished product.

                installed.
reset the service lights, oil change was done last week.

now everything works flawlessly, and i am very happy with the outcome of the cluster. the white and red go together very well.

batteries with a higher mAH dont necessarily have more longevity. it's not that the batteries die, it's that they stop holding a charge and/or short internally.

well this is what i read somewhere on a bavauto pdf, they actually recommended 1250mAH batteries as it would last twice as long.

thanks man, i'm surprised the combination looks so good, wasn't sure if it would, which is why i had an aluminum color on stand by.

                          update.

i tinted my headlights and fogs using elefantsupply's tint. i think they came out perfect, not super thick so it will impair light output, although it does just a little even with hid's. nevertheless, it's a nice addition.

                          tint:

                          before:
i cleaned the lens really well before applying.

                          after:

                          in light:

overall it looks fantastic and i am happy with the outcome.
