Who cares if this is a girl or a guy? We share the same interests, so to add something useful to this thread..
California legal in an e30 = OBD1. Since an s52 is OBD2, you will either have to disguise it as an s50 and hope the inspection guy doesnt notice the extra 3 o2 sensors, or you can do a complete OBD1 conversion.
This includes OBD1 headers. They will check the angle at which the o2 sensor is mounted, so I highly recommend using OBD1 headers unless you want to have an entire exhaust welded up only to find out that it won't pass.
Remember, cali-legal 24v swap = +++Resale value. If you don't care about resale value or legality, ignore this post and get some ebay headers.

If you want to use something other than the cast OBD1 headers, go to the closest BAR office and check to make sure you can, they're usually nice about giving lists of exactly what you need to do to pass.
So when it comes time to smog again in 2 years, then what? Save yourself the headache and do it right the first time..

There you go.
Jay & John, you might want to reach out to Tim (Philo on the boards) about the headers. He got me a modded OBD-II set to work on my OBD-I M50. Bought, modded and glass-beaded to be purty for $125.00. Not sure if that was a local discount or not, but they're nicely done!‘Tis by the grace of God that my cars run!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.
