Ryan Castro's Avus Blue LS1 M3 Project (Non-e30) *With Vids*
Ive lagged on updates so here are a few :)
Rear end all done:
AKG bushings
3.91 with 40% lock up
aluminum camber arms
Solid diff bushings
AA Diff support bracket (overkill...I know)
I would give organs to have a similar (albeit LS3) setup in my E36 Touring (on LPG)
Out of interest, what camera/lens/settings were the about (fancy) pics take with?
Sick touring. I also plan on an LS3, thats why I am no planning any major power adders to this motor
UPDATE 2-12-12
Did some research on subframe bushings the past week. I went with the 95a AKG poly bushings with solid Turner diff bushings and I counldnt be happier. The car feel mush more planted and I don't have any additional vibration than before.
I do get a diff whine at high speeds as I did change to a different brand of fluid to Torco 75/90 but I think I will change the fluid to 85/140 to see if it dampens the whine.
Other than that. I am very happy.
Mods completed this round:
Resurface rotors
Regeared Diff from 3.46 to 3.91
replace SS lines
AKG 95a subframe bushings
AKG 90a rtab bushings
AKG Subframe reinforcement
AKG RTAB reinforcement
Newer Half shaft
Aluminum camber arms
Fixed and serviced front window regulators and motors
Subframe bushings too a dump so I got the subframe out and this is whats happening now:
- diff is off to get rebuilt to a 3.91 w/40% lockup
- subframe to get AKG poly bushings with subframe a couple of reinforcements ;)
- New SS brake lines
- New rear camber arms
So today. I just cleaned up the chassis reinforcement plates and re painted them so its nice and clean for the subframe to come back
Last week I went to go take some cool photos and found out that my subframe bushings took a dump...now the car is back on jackstands currently in surgery:
