1991 318i engine fixer upper

fuuudge man this car is cool i guess, changed all of the timing stuff but stripped the thread in the head on the upper bolt that holds the drivers side guide, so now that thing rattles like crazy.
gatta take the front apart again, what excitement lol

finally got some time off work again so... back to the garage!!!
picked up the bottom end for the oil pan a week ago,

so this is how my garage looked like lol

days off are amazing to get things done, but ive been getting alot of them lately, thats not good

got the engine out today, the thing is dirty but it was so much easier then the m20 i loved it.



first blood lol i could see the knuckle bone it was wierd

going to get the pressure washer from my cousin and start cleaning everything and wait till saturday which is when i hopefully will get a ride to vancouver to get that bottom end

this intake was the easiest intake i ever took of, freakin amazing

the engine is really dirty but i guess some super clean will help and after the black wrinkles :)

so i got the car up on some jack stands and looked under

some things will need to be replaced





atf in a manual? they do that?

really?? maan ive been deceived lol. well im thinking to fix all of the gaskets and some hoses, make sure that it doesnt leak oil and stuff and i just want to clean the engine bay because everything is dirty and yellow instead of white and i just want to do it just for the heck of it

Subframe doesn't need to come off to replace oil btw nice car the price im totally restoring at the moment gl with the m42

+1 you can get the upper sump in and out without dropping the sub frame.
