    1989 325is- 24v swapped and other goodies

I guess I should start a build thread for this, considering I've had it for almost 3 months now.

I picked this car up at the end of July. It needed a lot of work but I saw the potential it had. It was already M50 swapped and 5 lug converted when I purchased it. I've fixed most of the little issues and am very, very happy with it.

    Car came with:

    -M50TU out of a '95 525 and G260 E30 trans
    -S3.73 final drive
-Like new Bilstein Sport dampers and H&R Sport springs
    -E36 DS1's (traded)
    -Black vinyl comfort seats
    -M3 map light mirror (w00t)

    So far, I've done:

-Full tan-->black interior swap E30 M3 seats (heated fronts)
-Full stereo install with Kenwood deck, Boston 6x9's, PG 1000.5 amp, 12" JL W3 and a 12" Lukebox
-Replaced and installed mint zinno front valance
    -New iS lip from blunttech
    -Added Zinno mirrors
    -Acquired 16x8 E38 Style 5's and Dunlop DZ101 205/45/16 tires
-Installed/reengineered IE sways (22/25mm, they work awesome)
    -Replaced failing steering rack
    -Full engine/trans/diff service
    -Fully rebuilt G260
    -Skidplate
-New IE3's all around, Rogue Engineering RSM's
    -Euro trim, grills, plate filler
    -Euro smileys with 6k HIDs
    -Houndstooth door cards
-Last but certainly not least, did a very thorough exterior detail and paint correction (12+ hours, thanks to Brent at BKCustoms) along with a full shadowline trim treatment. This single handedly changed the entire look of the car and made it much, much more agressive looking.

What will be next on the list:
-S50 from 133k mile '95 M3 in the next couple months, need to order all maintenance parts
-Rebuild my spare S3.46 diff to go in this
    -Brakes all the way around
-All front end control arms/tie rods/steering rack swap from E36
-Rear subframe, diff and trailing arm bushings
    -M-System I's
    -Possibly reupholster interior

    Will update as progress evolves.

    Here's a few pics. Enjoy!

Took a hood to Seattle on my roof rack (uhaul blanket got ripped to shreds on the way, lol)

        Thanks guys!

1/8th mile night, running low 10's :( This was prior to installing the Mark D chip, fixing misc vacuum leaks and doing a full tune up. I'm sure my times would be lower now.

The bottom part is kinda tall, but still works and looks awesome. I can snap some pics tomorrow.

Haha, thanks man! Definitely should get together for a shoot sometime. 'Vert and M3 seats are the same, so just keep an eye out for some. The coupe in the sig is my homie Geno's 318. I'm down to one car for now. Would like to pick up an ETA or something for a winter beater.

i have tan vert front seats in mine, i was talking about the rear seats, apparently m3 rears are my only option since verts are apparently way more narrow.
Ive got a buddy in gresham trying to sell his eta....would make a good winter beater, smokes a bit but i gave him a good head for it.

Ahh, that makes sense. I remember the rear seat in my old '88 325ic being pretty narrow.

What's he want for it? I'm not looking to spend much on a beater. If I can't find one, it's not that big of a deal. I'll just drive this one and take the money I set aside for a beater and start buying some M-Tech parts!

hes asking like 900, its got bilstiens and h&r springs sitting on bottle caps, strut tower brace, "it smokes like a diesel which is kinda cool".ROFL, its a prefect beater for winter, ive got a head and headgasket for it if you want to just swap heads and see if it quits smoking. but hell it runs and drives and has springs and struts.
