You have a diff built with the e30 larger speedo ring to suit z3m diff cover. Z3m and Z3 non m covers are not directly compatible; total pain in the ass.

Z3 non m has a different offset cover that places the stubby speedo sensor close to the smaller diameter speedo ring.

Looks like you just need a speed sensor ring; it presses right on. I have a few on the shelf if you need one for a e30- PM me

M30 is so simple I love it.

                  weight reduction

head has around 30kmiles but I'm still going to do HD rockers, and more aggressive cam if I have the funds left after the bottom end rebuild..

Thanks man. I feel like yours will be inspirational to me as you go along. I am planning on running a Cat Cams turbo cam and upgrading my rockers since I am pulling my head again anyways. From your research what cam profile and brand are you looking at?

Ill likely go with a bimmerheads regrind if I can get it for the correct price;). This head already has a 272 but I feel it will be too tame and leave me wanting more.

Ah. The factory cam is a 265 if I am not mistaken and that is what I am currently running. It makes pretty good power but I want my power band to be a bit broader.

I am looking forward to seeing how you set yours up.

This is going to be fun. I've always thought of doing a M30 turbo in something myself. Someday...

And I don't care what anyone tells you, use your stock M20 harness when you wire this up. It's so easy.
