Well my time in STX has been fun and its not over just yet. I will most likely be running STX for part of next year unless some miracle happens and I fall into quite a bit of money.
The plan as of right now is to move to SM in SCCA and be able to do more open track racing, hill climb and other similar events.
I have put a down payment on an M50 with most of the parts that I will need. I will have to pick up an intake manifold, coil packs and Im sure a few other odds and ends to make the M50 complete. Then I am going to go through it and give it a refresh to get it ready for boost! I will most likely be using a custom turbo manifold, but have not decided just yet on which one I will get or who will be making it depending on which route I go.
Plan for the engine in the long run will be to put down about 400 hp.
The car itself will be getting some rework as well. I will be making a custom widebody that resembles the M3 look. It will be getting a big wing for lots of downforce. This will be secured to the bottom of the trunk and come up through the trunk lid. It will most likely be ugly to most people, but functional as hell.
Some wide wheels are in store for the car. As of now I am still trying to decide on whether I want to go with 15x10 or 17x10 wheels.
The suspension will be getting some rework as well. With a different shock and a better valving for the spring rates I will be running.
The car will be undergoing some weight reduction to get down to the minimum weights of the class.
Hopefully getting the engine to my garage in the next week or so as soon as the M50 comes out of the current car.
Parts will be ordered to complete the M50 like stated, then will come head bolts or studs, head gasket, and as many other gaskets as I decide to replace in the engine.
Then comes the fun part. Turbo manifold, turbo, injectors, engine management, downpipe and exhaust, intercooler and piping, etc...........
Im still working out details on a few things I want to use like the turbo, manifold and what Im going to build for an exhaust.
Turbo oil feed and coolant feed should be a pretty simple thing as the car will no longer have AC (not that it worked very well anyway). Still deciding on which route I want to go with for the trubo drain line.
Engine management is a big one I am going to have to think about. This will take me quite a bit of time talking with other members on what will work and what will work best for my setup.
Much more info and pictures will be added in the comes days and weeks as this build unfolds. This will be somewhat a long term project. So expecting things to get done super fast isnt in the cards.
ANY opinions or comments are welcome. Your not going to hurt my feelings.
Kingston will probably be posting up some pictures from my last event of the year running STX. I know some people wont like it, and others will love it. Let me know what you think guys!
