Currently I'm awaiting a gc coilover setup, should be here soon. Also I had a set of E38 style 5s filled and redrilled. Just trying to piece the car together for the new look!

Diff bushings, subframe bushings, oil housing gasket and oil pan gasket. What a pain.

Pulled the entire rear subframe out.

Torches to burn the bushings out and wood clamps to put them back in

The underside of this car is absolutely filthy.

    Cork gasket, new to me.

Replaced the front bumper and repainted it. I've replaced the front valence which was bent and put the stock lip on it.

This is how she currently sits:

Chalkboard paint would look pretty good with clear coat :eeps:

Drained the fuel tank... wow. The tank was toast so it had to come out.

had to remove the heat shields, driveshaft and stupid fuel lines that pour fuel everywhere. Finally got it out though!

new fuel tank. $75 and rust free!

    almost there!

More photos and close ups of the writing are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/derref/...7624843913966/

I did park it outside during a football game... that was a bad idea. Whoever said random people writing on it would be better...

    Clean and ready for priming

Priming the chalkboard paint... I'll explain later

    omnomnom

    giggity

Instructions called for "priming" or covering the entire surface in chalk and then wiping it off. It made the surface nice and smooth, probably by filling the pores with chalk dust.

Wiping down after the chalk priming with a slightly damp microfiber

We tore into the motor. Replaced the timing belt (which we discovered was alright), waterpump, valve cover gasket and other little pieces. Still need to tear into the fuel tank.
