This whole install looks really, really clean. I'll be at Buttonwillow at the NASA enduro at the end of the month, stop by and say hi if you're there! I'm in the blue SE30, #33. I'm usually the only blue one there.

sounds great!
I'll be there for sure with another friend who is trying to get into specE30. He will be in HPDE 3, and I haven't decided if I can drive yet. I had bicep surgery about a month ago, and I don't know if I will be ready yet. But either way I will be there (watching or driving). I'll say hi and pick your brain some.
final stages for the interior.
finished painting the pass. door.
the last aluminum panel is on.
the car is basically done for now. It is driveable. I need to get it on track and then the list will continue to grow the rest of this year as I get ready for Spec racing next season.
Looks good. I'm in the process of converting my e30 into NASA spec e30. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about converting a clean e30 into a track car. I have my first HPDE next month. Good luck.

I don't understand this thinking at all that a car is "too nice" to turn into a race car. If you are going to build a race car wouldn't you want to start with the best platform you could find within a budget. People turn much nicer cars into race cars all the time. These e30's are great little cars for a few thousand dollars. I personally would spend a little extra on a good shell and have something good to build from instead of a rusted out POS that every part needs to be replaced before it's safe or reliable for a track.

I'm of the opinion that...these are 20-25 year old cars, everything is going to have to be replaced or rebuilt no matter how nice the shell is.
