Isn't the biggest benefit of a rear mounted turbo avoiding heat soak. So you don't loose performance over time on a hot day. Also supposedly they don't need intercoolers or exhaust, but this on does.

Intercoolers aren't necessary on a rear mount...most guys I've seen don't use one. Too much pressure drop through all of the tubing + intercooler.
Yes, you need an exhaust. You have to get the gases to the turbo somehow...right? ;)
Biggest advantages: lower underhood temps, turbo doesn't get as hot, more room in the bay, cooler oil to turbo, and there's a couple more.
