I like what you did with the bolts.

What polishing media did you use? I haven't found one that gives me a finish like yours did. It looks great!

    I like.

Well I need to update this thread, kind of left it hanging. The car went back together *almost* all the way, then other projects and various traveling got in the way and the job was sidelined. Finally decided to get it all finished up. The car is all together now, aligned, and running well. All that is left is a few cosmetic things to take care of. It sure is fun to drive with the stiff suspension and nice tires. The little M42 can move pretty well.

    Photos to get caught up:

Had the injectors cleaned and tested at a local shop

After discovering there was a nice crack in the original head, I sourced this solid one from a local guy. Had it pressure tested/tanked/surfaced. Had to reassemble it on the desk

Replaced the water pump. Ended up being a much bigger job than expected.

    Started reassembling the engine

    Added a dash of color

And a sexy spacer/stud kit from Motorsport Hardware. Great products

    And finally, a finished product.

    Still left to do:

    Paint detail
Fix a few interior issues, including the stereo
    Title/registration/etc

    More pics to come

After 2 days in the tumbler the bolts/nuts have a decent shine to them

And the first large parts order arrived! More expected over the next couple days

Anyways well done, also you don't need the cam locking tool, I just removed the cams when I did mine, another not if you are going to have it for a while replace the gasket between the timing case and block mine was leaking, and if it gives up then you have to remove the head and timing componets to get to it. You can see it in my thread in my sig.
