Well you can always buy the replacement roundie panels to "upgrade" the rear. And you could probably get it registered as a classic vehicle to get around smogs.

That's looking great! This really is the best swap for lightweight small cars at the moment. Hope you've read up on passing the BAR, if you have any questions PM me, it really isn't that hard. If you go to the right places you can BAR the car without them smogging it. You will have to smog it at a later date and they will make note of things that won't pass smog so you know what to change. A BAR certificate basically says "smog this car as a (whatever is in the engine bay)"
