    A broke College Kid's 318is build.

I thought I'd finally post a build thread here. Its friday night at 1:00 in the morning and Im bored.

This is TECHNICALLY my third E30. First one I bought for $300 off of some weird dude who lived here in Newport, his last name was Beach...And I can see why. Every nook and cranny of the interior was FILLED with Sand. The car ran tho and I was desperate for an E30, So I bought it. This was about three years ago.

    85 325e 5 Speed.

remains of rear jack well. Car had been in a flood before...

This car had wayyyyy too many problems. even for $300.Too much rust. Wasn't savable. Decided to take all the 5 speed parts out of it and then I found this.

85 325e Automatic. $400. over 300k miles, previous owner used it as his winter beater to bring him from boston to maine. With blown brakes. Fixed the brakes, drove it til I overheated it. rebuilt the motor, did a 5 speed swap.

got bored of the slow as fuck B27.

Did this. Against my better judgement...knowing this shell was shot, had rust in places that I never would of thought to check. Firewall and rear subframe area .

I couldn't deal with the rust. Sold her stupid cheap to a fellow member on here who's gonna rip it apart and put the swap in his clean shell. Killed me, I loved that car .

My original plan was too find a red early model two door...
This came up on Craigslist. Dude posted it monday morning, I skipped class and drove to Boston and bought it monday Night. He had people calling him from the Canadian border that were gonna buy it, and two people coming the same night for it if I didn't buy it. I spent every penny left to my name on it . Stupid college kid move.

1991 318is Slicktop . Dshwartz. Less then 100k on Odo (Says it stopped working for 20k its on 60k now). Eibach springs, Racing Dynamics sway bars and strut braces. motor has 60k on it. PO replaced it after the profile gasket went on the original one.

Has a Vacuum leak you could fit a volkswagen through and practically no exhaust after the cat, but i fucking love it. Feels more like an actual BMW, I know alot of people with E36s and E34s and this car feels more like those then my Last car did. Almost everything works, and this motor is just a blast .

Only shitty pics I have of it for now.

    Plans:
    Fix Vacuum leaks
    Fix Exhaust
    Brakes
    IS Lip
    Moar Low
    24V again?
Sell it and buy a Red E30.

Updates will be slow, I'm broke as fuck.

    Thanks for looking!

I guess you need to push the sides in to make it fit a regular bodied car

318is's are the best e30's (well, except for the s14's)

                              nice score!

Also, that tranny will bolt right up to a 24V, it's what I used for my 325iS build
