you will learn to love those big rear arches. to be honest thats the only reason i like early models. when you slam them they look appropriate becasue they do not have the rake anymore. But on the other hand i also scrape alot more because of the extra low in the rear end. either way car looks good! wish i could find some lach panels for my car :/

Funny story, when I got the car I though the silver made it look much older. Now that most of the trim has been refreshed, I'm pretty proud to have a lachs e30(it's amazing what a difference cleaning up worn trim will do). I don't see too many.
I plan to stick with the lachs over black trim look with maybe a rear plate filler, is spoiler.

Nice work man.

Good work so far
The rear sub-frame isn’t that hard to do, especially since you have a lift... Just support everything and raise the car up! A few helpful things that I learned... Pull the e-brake cables by disconnecting them from the handle, and then just pull them out, no need to disassemble anything! If the sub-frame bushings are giving you trouble, take a piece of 5/8ths threaded rod and grind part of it down so it will pop up into the rear seat area, and hit it with a hammer. You need to thread the aluminum sleeve in the bushing of course... And don't burn the bushings out, use a sawzaw to cut out the centers then use a hack saw to cut a relief in the metal sleeve and they will come out. The trailing arms just need a long piece of 3/8th's threaded rod and make your own press using an impact gun, a socket (relief for the busing), washers, and nuts. You do need the cut the flanges off the bushings though; when you get around to it you will see what I mean. On install, through the bushings in the freezer(take ONE out at a time, they NEED to be cold), and the ONLY use soapy water for lubricant. Sub-fame bushings need to be pressed in with a 50ton press if they are oem... I think I have all of the threaded stuff lying around if you want to use it. Good luck!
P.S. Give me your hood hahaha not really, but I really don’t like the red one I got as a replacement… Lachs is a great color!

Thanks for the feedback everyone, especially pantalones. I've got a write up on the subframe, I've just been putting it off for a bit.Last edited by shaferbm; 09-06-2013, 08:18 AM.
