    Yee Old 87 325IS

Because Ive had this car for two weeks, and I've had project threads
on other forums within the last two weeks. I'm simply going to
post what Ive done including the updates.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Well, Since I sold the Audi, and the New Audi I had planned on purchasing
sold the SAME EXACT HOUR I sold mine.......
I jumped in the old Beater and plan to roll in it for a bit until I find the
exact car I want to purchase, Thus has turned into my Project Daily.

    My 2006 Audi A6 S-Line 3.2L V6 Quattro ( Awd ) Fully Loaded.

Since I no Longer have the Audi, I'm saving $450 in car payment/Insurance
a month. So, Just a few months worth into this car should make it a decent daily.

I've created this thread, to document what I do to it. And I've been throwing ideas around since it will need a new motor sometime.
It's over the 300,000 mile mark on this motor/car.... :eek3: Yes....

Also, You should enjoy the fact that there shouldn't be posts full of fuzzy cell phone shots. Most should be decent pics....
So, Who knows. Newer I6, V8, Boosted I6... We'll see.

    So, Here she is.

1987 BMW 325IS Dark Metalic Silver (Don't know the true spec name)
300K+ Miles (The Odometer stopped working, 10 years ago)
    Lowered on Eibach Springs
Tuned Ecu. (Don't know much details aside from the stock ecu sits in the house...)

I bought a new Battery, and 6 New spark plugs to get her running since she was sitting for nearly a year and wouldn't start.

    Pics.

You can see here, I taped off and painted the panel a two tone..... Better than it was IMHO.

You can see the untoched driver side. Looks shatty, more so than the one i painted. lol

Plain and simple.... It's a Beater.
But I've never had a car I didn't try to
at least make nicer, clean up or fix up.

So I'll be doing the same to this car.

PS: It is fun being back in a Stick shift car, RWD. Damn that Audi was just a luxury Highway cruiser....

      UPDATE: BIG SCORE!

So I went out and spent all day in the 95* weather. Sweat my ass off
      but it was worth it.

Ready for some pictures of some Nice Junk I scored at the Junkyard!?

So, I visited 3 junkyards. I scored this today

      -----------------------------------------

TWO (2) Sets of Ellipsoid Lights! (found out these sell for a couple hundred online) Their from a 5 series, so the brackets are different BUT the ellipsoids will still work.
I'm going to use them for a Project, Acura TSX Projector Retrofit.... Maybe Bi-Exenon depending on the extra cost... we'll see.

I payed $8 for one set at one junkyard, and $30 at another Junkyard for set #2

Seat Belt clicks? I don't know what to call them. Anyway, mine wouldn't
hold a seatbelt so I picked these up which work perfect.

      Driver Side Tail Light

      Pass. Side HeadLight Trim

Two BMW Emblems which appeared new, off a mid 90s 7 series

Ok, So here is the Big Score! I've Never seen a E30 with this OEM piece
in a junkyard.... and I've been to Most in Middle TN. Finally Found it.

      .
      .
      .
      .
      .
OEM E30 Lower Front Bumper Valence with OEM Hella FOGS!
It's also the part I payed the most for, But at $75 even for the entire
thing with oem hella fogs is a Deal! Their about $400 online, and I haven't seen an OEM one online yet......

Under the bumper to get an idea of how itll look.

After I clean it up and repaint it, it should look pretty good!

Heres a B/W to get a better Idea....

      COST:

I spent $75 on the Bumper,

$40 for one set of Ellipsoids, Seat Belts, Rear Tail Light and Headlight trim.
I went to Express Pull N Save for this one, and their prices are amazing.
And for the 2nd set of Headlights and BMW Emblems I spent $30 even.

      I'm happy! :loco::loco::loco::loco::loco::loco:

        Okay

        Old Front Emblem

New Front Emblem, On a Shitty ass hood. :-x

        Old Tailight

        Un Fubard Tailight Installed!
I transferred the gasket, and also used a small strip of rubber gasket maker
just to freshin up the old gasket. Didn't need it but small things like that make
        a difference over time....

I sprayed One coat of Stripper, and used the pressure washer.

It'll need more coats of stripper and doses of the pressure washer but
it should clean up real real nice.

Well Guys, Just bought some more stuff from ebay.

            I bought True E30 Ellipsoids.

While the Ones I got will work the bracket is for a 5 series so they won't bolt up.
And I had planned on making some custom brackets etc....
Rather than hacking up something together I just bought some from online
and at $145 they werent a huge hit to the wallet.

I'm going to use the two sets I have, One for Retrofit project.
The other I'm going to sell on ebay, Make my money back and an extra $60 so really I paid $80 for these oem headlights, and still have an extra set for a retrofit.

Here's what I bought. It's the bracket that is the difference.....

Update again, Went to the junkyard to get the Sunroof deflector,
it fits but there isn't much for the mount to grab onto...

              Pictures of course!

The Sketchy mount.. It came off a 5series, But it's a perfect fit aside from
the mounting. Isn't that the way they all are?

I also got the Pass. Door Tweeter in!

              before

              after

So the Car was missing ( in like two cylinders ) and it was pretty bad,
the idle was lopey, which sounded awesome... But wasn't good.

So, when I went to the Junkyard I noticed it had a third of the miles
mine had. And since it was a front corner collision it had to be driving and working.

Well, I grabbed a few parts.

One being this, I marked it #1. I swapped it out and it almost fixed the two misses! Felt like they were gone. So, after that I noticed some vacume leaks at all the spots with Arrows. I added some Black Rubber Gasket maker to seal em up.... So, it runs even smoother! It's amazing how some small things will make such a large difference!!

                Also Bought some stickers!

I put them in the middle, Because the Left side will be have other stickers.

I'm ordering some of these, thought they were funny. They will all be small, Like smaller than 4" and silver so they'll be hard to see.
One of those things you'll only notice up close.... Like I said, Some.... Not all. Though I like them all.

                this rly made me laugh...

                Over 300,xxx Miles bitch!

Okay, HID Kit Ordered and two LED intr dome lights ordered.

HID Kit From DDMTuning, I bought a set from them 4 yrs ago for the 98 Audi
Its not the DDM version though.

                  ApexCone Rapter V2 HID Kit, 55W 6000k ( 9006 Low Beam)

From reviews, Much better than the DDMSlim kit. Its built much more sturdy and for $40 and comes with a lifetime warranty who cares.

                  LED Dome Lights,
                  I bought (2) 42MM 9x 5050 108 Lumens EACH.

The Ellipsoids should have shown up today so we'll see. Im at work....

Okay, so I ordered that stuff. I've been thinking, the intr is so damn dark at night you can't see anything. Partly why I bought those two led bulbs, but those only turn on when the door is open.
Was thinking about getting some small LED panels, and creating true
intr dome lights and just wiring up some tiny switches so whenever I needed light I'd have
                    light.

These are small, look at the wires coming from it. And yet, They put out 288 Lumens.
Thats Alot! about a 1/4 of a Headlight.... (halogen headlights are 1100 lumens)

So, Was thinking One for driver side and one for pass side.
I'd also like some smaller boards for footwells.....

Just an Idea I've been throwing around.
