From my first car, to my race car.

From my first car, to my race car.
I figure a few of you guys would appreciate the transformation it has made. I know I just posted those bottom pictures a few weeks ago. Those pictured lacked progress. I'm still going to put together a build thread.
Here's a bunch of choice pictures of my car over the years.
It started out as a 1989 325is with 140k miles on it and two owners.
You can see the transformation to what is today.

Stock as a rock, with just my deep dish nardi installed.

Got some coilovers, was pretty stoked on how the chassis came alive.

Painted the stock weaves black, Still regret this.

Lowered it more and threw on a super trendy volvo lip.

Got some Kosei K1's. 17x7.5 et35. 10mm spacer up front.

Got some 235/40 kdw's on them. I thought I was a canyon carving god.

Then I got into the whole fitment thing. These were 17x8 Msystems with turbine covers.

A lot happened in between the last picture and this one. The car now has a 13 point 3/4 cage done by my title sponsor, Blackbird Fabworx. It has an m30b35 swap. And has trm 15x8's just to roll around on.

I love this car more than any other inanimate object that has ever been in my life(no homo). So much so that I named it. It was my very first car. I have been through 5 or so other cars, but this has always and will always be around. My ultimate goal with this car is to campaign it in formula drift. It has come a long way, and there is a long way to go. But with the help of my friends and sponsors, I have no doubts that it will happen.

Here's a quick mod list in no particular order for those interested.
    89 325is
    m30b35
    g260/6
    Good&Tight engine mounts
Solid engine and trans mount bushings.
    D2 Coilovers
Magnaflow Race cat, 2.5 inch exhaust.
    4.10lsd
    Trm 15x8
13 point cage done by Moti at Blackbird Fabworx.
Custom solid mount DTM short shifter done by Chris at Castro Motorsport.
    Cobra suzuka Pro Solid mounted.

If You have any questions about the work done to the car, feel free to pm me.
I'm always interested in adding companies to my program, so please contact me if that's something you are interested in.

Got these two things done today.
Threw in this 360mm wood nardi to match my shift knob. Love the way it looks, but it's just not practical for track driving. Its much too thin/slippery. Please excuse the Wiring hanging out. I'm doing an audio install.

Then I threw on the ricer accessories. LED Tail lights. I'm a douche so I love the way they look.

Your aware that your cage isnt fd legal right? Itll be fine for grass roots tandoms but no a piller bar (halo or down bars) wont pass tech for pro-am or pro. Looks good otherwise.

It's only 75% done right now.The rest of the cage will be finished up in October. I do appreciate the heads up though!

                      On another note,
Got the front bumper masked off because it has a rock chips etc....

Picked up a junkyard fog light with a good lens I'll throw in tomorrow. It was a good way to save 50 bucks.

I'm also going to buff the lower valence to see if i can bring some life back to it. As of right now its pretty miserable.

                      IMG_6157 by stinkyriderx, on Flickr

all taped up and ready to goooo.

Also picked up one of these. Delrin shifter carrier bushing. I'll be doing a before and after video of this to see how much of a difference it makes. That should be installed tomorrow as well.

the only other thing to do before paint is get the rear bumper off and get that ready for paint, along with the side trim... I'm still debating on whether or not I should shadowline the car.

I also sometimes wonder why I waste my time with stuff like this when its future is to be a competition car. I guess it just gives me something to do.

                      That's it for now.

Use plastidip for the shadow line. That way if u dont like it u can just pull it back off.

bumpers are done, and still need to be put on....

In other news, I have been thinking about selling the m30 setup complete, and throwing in an m60 instead. We shall see where that goes in the next few weeks after doing research.
