More work done on the engine bay, I need to fill a few areas, grind a few down and put another coat of POR15 on but I think its looking much better already. I brushed the first coat of por15 and dont like the finish so after I finish reworking some of the areas i'll try spraying it on

So its been a while since I've updated this. The bav sat on the side lines most of the summer while I worked on my private pilot glider license and then spent a month flying to and from Afghanistan. Shortly afterwards my active duty commitment ended and chose to go reserves so moved back to PA and it took a while for the car to get shipped back home. Ive been at Lackland AFB for the last month for C-5 loadmaster training and should be back with my car at the end of this month.
Meanwhile my brother has been working on the body and it should be going to the paint shop sometime this week! He has been shaving off all the beltline trim, rocker panel trim, antennae hole and door lock holes and also fixing a few dents on the car

Long story short: the project isnt dead

seems like every officer ive met in the squadron was a prior load. So far the transition has been interesting; the shift in mindset from a gunner/loadmaster hybrid on an ac130 to a LM on a c5 and the change from afsoc to amc/afrc. I used to laugh at people wearing reflecter belts, now I am one

Reflector Belt.....bhahah. Yeah I have one, where it is I just really don't care. To many years of BS has mad me grumpy. I've got about 19 days till my AD retirement. 4 years remaining on my enlistment.

Might finish on this trip. Been here in Thailand for 20 days now .

I can't believe I'm just finding this thread! This is awesome work dude! Keep it up! I'm doing a similar project myself.. Combining a 1972 4 speed and a 1974 Auto to make one pretty sweet Bavaria.
