Well I figured I could do a typical build thread. This isnt a restore, this isnt a track car, this isnt for the magazines. This is for me.
Input is welcome. You cant hurt my feelings. I love cars. I love "most" people.
Comments, tips, previous experience, tricks, hate, love all of it is welcome here.
This is my 4th e30. Been a while since I had one, I was over in the Volkswagen group for a while.
Found it in Texas, was in good enough condition and I talked the owner down enough to make me very happy.
This is what I was driving before I scooped up the 325e

So me and a buddy hopped the first train, aka our truck and trailer to Dallas.

The exhaust well, was basically stock with a huge "fart can"/"rice" muffler on it. Not being sure of engine swapping, or direction at the time, i just hacked the tip off.

Sprayed the wheels black, well because the paint was there.

The paint was/is decent. Lots of surface scratches and just wear from years of life. So it was time to wet sand and try to bring some black back into the mix.

And the result wasnt terrible

This thing was/is 3 different colors on the interior. Driving me crazy. Beat up and thrown together. Over time, though, I will get it straightened out.

And much better

No ebrake handle? No problem.

Next up was wheels. Now, Ive had BBS, Ronal, Schmidt, xxr, etc.... the list goes on and on and on. So just picking something was and is always hard. I love genuine "real" wheels, yet im no snob in the "fake wheel" department. If it looks good and you like it, run it.
So I went with the new 531s....

Good fitment, super cheap. Not a bad looking wheel.

Hated them. Just didnt do it for me. So, guess what was laying around... yep, more paint.

Still fit the same. Still a decent looking wheel. After two weeks, still hated them. E30 1 Me 0
Promptly took them off and onto the forums for someone else to appreciate. No harm no foul. Threw the black weaves back on and said fuck it.
Had some vw parts lying around... so had a test fit. Still not sure if I am going to do this or not.... jury is out.

Well the buff got the paint looking nice, but the bumpers and trim just still looked ratty to me. So it was time for some of my Volkswagen tricks to leak over into the E30. Texture party

While I was at it, scored a Volvo lip and did the 3 hours of trimming and screaming to make it fit.
Tucked the front bumper, laminexed the highs, threw away one of the fogs and moved the other farther out on the bumper.

Then it was wheel time again. Searched google images for days, the forums, everywhere looking for something that fit my style and went with what I had done, where I was going etc...
Then I came across Castros E30. Done. Esm 002 16x9 all around. With 215/45.

And here we sit as of this morning...

Ill update as soon as I get something worth updating.
