93 BMW 325ci STOCK and shipped to TEXAS!

New to the forums. Just bought this little gem and am having it shipped from California to Texas. Wanted a stock e30 so I could fully enjoy all the headaches and joys from a 5 lug and motor swap. Pretty excited I must say. This vehicle was a 1 owner car and has no rust with 100k original miles. I plan on changing the timing belt upon arrival. Already bought a m tech 5 speed shift knob and am looking for a steering wheel upgrade mabey a mtech 2 steering wheel. After that its 5 lug swap and eventually after I recover from that sting a s50 swap. I just havent convinced myself that the s52 is worth the added install headache even though I work at a shop. Anyway, super excited and glad to be a member of the forums. :D

why not just leave it stock? it'd be far more valuable 5 years down the road.

anyway welcome! and go s52 obd2 if you must swap.

Yea he told me about that before I purchased the vehicle. I work at a repair shop so I can take care of it. However, I am curious to know how you could tell that from the picture. Also know how much that fix usually runs?

The last pic. The top cover isn't flush with the body. Which btw can pop up going down the highway as the electric latch isn't caught. The replacement I believe is $800. My cabrio started as a 318 so I have a manual top thank god.

95% of the time it's the power top motor that takes thousands of pounds of pressure...it's pot aluminum. If you can weld that you can make it last forever.

This isn't necessarily true. Power tops have metal lines that hold the tonneau cover down. These lines stretch over time and cause that not to fully close. The power top could work fine and the tonneau cover could sit slightly open like that when closed.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30
