Update, the spare "working" cluster I bought a while back had broken gears in the odometer. By combining old gages and newer gages into one cluster with the new odo gears I now have a fully functioning cluster...and a new speed impulse sender which didn't need to be replaced afterall but oh well...that's just one more part I know I don't need to worry about for a while.

time to get serious about this project again...within the next month or so I'll be busy with:

-installing new convertible top with straps
-gonna start pulling out the interior to get reupholstered
-gonna relocate the battery to the trunk
