    CrJdMc's 87 IS Build

Sup guys im kinda new to the forum, i just realized i dont have a build thread, and all i have is a thread in the "members rides" section. but anyway, I bought this 1987 325is for 800 bucks, it ran fine, but needed a center support bearing, so without hesitation i bough the center support bearing and had it driving in a week, I've done some small stuff so far, mostly maintenance though.
    So far i have..
    -Changed oil
    -Fixed center support bearing
    -Finished dyeing door cards black
    -Cleaned fuel filter
    and thats about it.

ANd of course, the turbo part, well a friend texted me because he knew i wanted to turbo my car, and he had a manifold he was not needing, he gave it to me for a price i couldn't refuse. And now i am planning on getting the intercooler, BOV, all the piping, injectors, Gaskets for the manifold to the head, and gaskets to the manifold to the turbo all next week, and then a oil feed and oil pan the week or so after, then all that is left is the actual turbo, the wastegate, and the chip i am wanting to use.
Bear with me, this may be a slow build considering im only 15, and have another full time project to work on (1972 vw bus) But anyway, on to pics!

So, *I'm tired of my car looking bone stock, so i went out side, and cleaned its up some to start, *then i sprayed the wheels with purple power to get all the grime loose, *and then i had to play the waiting game until it dried, *but anyway in to pics. *

    I started covering up everything.

first wheel painted, *and the rear being taped up. *

    all for painted. *

ohh, and uhh i blacked out the chrome. *

Good luck with the turbo. I put my first setup together 2 years ago when I was 16!

Thanks guys, i was supposed to get the BOV, piping, Intercooler, gaskets for the turbo and manifold, and injectors last week, but i didn't have the money, I'm buying all of that thursday, and you can count on pictures being uploaded. ;)

EDIT: and also, for the drop. i got some lowering springs from a good friend for free, those will be installed soon.

How am i ruining the car? haha and yes, the only reason i painted them on the car is because my jack broke, and i already had the paint. so i decided to do them, it did not overspray on anything, so it worked out fine.

Eeeek that looks like the fastest tape job known to man. Personally think the chrome looks better, the bumpers flow with the double chrome window trim of the early models. Also, if you were going to paint it black you should have removed your bumper strips first, not paint over them.

I am also going to black out the kidney grilles, i just ran out of time is all. but no overspray got on the car, so i couldn't be happier, the tape job may have looked bad, but with my little supplies, and little time, i did the best i could, and it got the job done for sure ;)

I pretty much don't think blacking out the grills is okay on any car. It looks great the way it is. Now put your time and effort into that motor build!
