Well that works out then since I have the 3.73.

Already converted my other 91 to r134a this summer with help from the DIY thread here. Works great, but don't take shortcuts - swap the whole thing out if you don't know the history. I kept the stock condenser though, and don't regret it.

if you swap the the 5sp like i did. i ran a 4.10LSD. it was way too low geared. the 3.73 is the correct gearing.

apparently the 1993 cars came with R134a systems. im converting my car to that from r12. but u need to find a complete system in a 93 vert.

keith@e30ic agrees with you, so I now need to buy a 4.10 LSD. I have a 3.73 LSD lying around but don't think I should use it here, even if I'm swapping in a 5 speed.

i also found old pics that clear show the grill and trunk MT2 badges. of course they're missing now. started some pm begging on that front. hopefully the car and project will convince those that have an extra set to sell them to me.

oh and did I mention the a/c compressor's gone and the hoses are hanging around unsealed?

my dad's mtech2 came from factor auto and 4.10LSD so most likely yours did too.

no kidding. previous car listings talk about $2k+ engine work and upgraded LSD. instead I'm pretty sure I have an open diff, nothing special engine wise and what looks to be a missing airbox. WTF..

just as bad on the cheap repairs is spending money on worthless cr@p like caliper paint when proper maintenance needs to be done. if it wasn't a full mt2 I probably wouldn't bother. I've got a really nice vert already that my wife and I love. this is a friggin full MT2 man. irrational behavior is mandatory here.

btw car's elsewhere right now, which is why more pics are delayed.

this is the shit that pisses me off more than anything else. i hate it when people cut corner and then expect top dollar for their cars.

please read the original post (OP) again. I've added some undercarriage pics as well so at least there's something to look at now.

I would, if it were written in English.

    cheap cat to pass emissions

but hey let's leave that original exhaust in place - you know preserve the authenticity

Based on the quality of the work I've seen, I'm pretty sure I have my hands full. This is not a short term project.

on the plus side looks like the billies were replaced. not sure if they're the right mtech ones though
something's wrong in the right rear - noise when rolling, not affected by brake pedal. don't think it's a wheel bearing though, rather the ebrake stuck - handle was acting weird.

    floor pan's just about perfect

but looks like the diff was swapped out - no "S" on the tag so probably just an open one.

as to the caliper paint, dunno what to say about that.

    -Cali car
-full leather interior in need of resto - already have erik's cloth coming and kchinn contacted.
    -4.10 LSD
-auto unfortunately, but following Cabriolet and doing a 5 speed swap
-restoring the engine compartment to stock (it's been f'd with, compressor's missing and lines are wide open, I could go on). once that's done I'll consider options
-original paint, but lots of dents, almost no rust.

I want the car mechanically as clean as possible, ditto cosmetically. I'm not doing a unibody up resto though, although I would dig that greatly.

There's alot of messy PO stuff - shortcuts, more interested in cheap shit appearance gimmicks. Will take time to get it right but there are many good examples on R3V. Really excited to get the community involved here.

    Ha..

Yeah maybe a bit early to post Barry, but the project's real, the deal's real and the car's real. I've checked it out pretty thoroughly with help from Keith at e30ic. It needs alot of work.

I posted the link to orb0554's car b/c I admire it very much. It is definitely my inspiration here.

Love your cars btw, and really looking forward to your advice, tips etc.
snarkiness from everyone, not so much
