Thanks Alpina. Yes I have scandinavian roots, I'm 100% Danish, but I live en the south off Spain. My spanish GF says that I'm a false viking, becource I don't like the cold wether in the north of europe. hahaha

Ok, a few more shots of the rescue of my old BAUR.

I was hoping that the front of the car was more or less rust free, well unfortunatly that was not so!:(
I got the fenders of and that revialed the first few problems. It quickly became clear that the carpet, seats, centerconsole etc had to come out, to reach some of the problem spots.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        [IMG][/IMG]
        Under the fusebox.
        [IMG][/IMG]
The same crap seen from the inside, above the pedals.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        [IMG][/IMG]
Last one shows the same again from the wheel side. Rusty bits cut.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        This pach was easy.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        Welded.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        Cut from the outside.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        Cut from the inside.
        [IMG][/IMG]
Copy. And fore some reason the photo of the pach welded in is lost ?? I'll get another asap. sorry:(
        [IMG][/IMG]
Another pach ready to get welded in place.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        Primer.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        And underbody coating.
        [IMG][/IMG]
        [IMG][/IMG]
Finaly a thick coat of hammerlite over a coat of antirust treatment, to seal of the patchings.
And i found this litle fellow when the fenders came of. Just hanging around i gues
        [IMG][/IMG]
        More to come.

Hi again, I have done a little more work to my old car. But first a shot of the finished patch under the fuse box
          [IMG][/IMG]
          Shaved trunk lid
          [IMG][/IMG]
I want to have a nice and clean engine bay, so i decided to shave it.

Old sealer gone, made some plates to cover the holes...[/IMG]
          Cleaned up a little..[IMG][/IMG]
          [IMG][/IMG]
This was first coat of bondo...
          [IMG][/IMG]
A little bit more, here and there...
          [IMG][/IMG]
And after a long time sanding this is the result..
          [IMG][/IMG]
          [IMG][/IMG]
          [IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]
Next I will make some plates to cover the base part, in front of the strouts.. After it will be coated in hi build primer, and preped for paint. I have not desided on what color yet, what do you think about lacksilber or delphin mabye??
I'm also waiting to get the front suspension and sub-frame back from the blaster. It will be rebuild with new bushings etc, after it's been powder coated blue, just like the rear sub-frame. More to come...

The color is "lapizblau" (?) I think that it is very dark, especialy combined with the black soft-top. I don't want it to look like a herse, and it do get very hot in the summer too. IDK ??

Thankx efficient. I do what i can, but imo it is not going fast at al :-(
It is all my work thoug, my friends are not car-people. I do envy you in the states, it seems that you have a diferent perspective on old cars, then we do here in europe. Most people thinks I'm cracy for doing this, and that i shuld junk that old shitter and get a newer car. :hitler:
That is never going to happen

You are more then welcome tocome over, and give me a hand if you want ;)

The bay is getting a "mild" shave treatment. I don't want to over-do this, I fear that it wont pass the test if it looks too modified. The inspection is very strict here in Spain, and this is something that won't be easy to redo if fails the test because of this. So fingers crossed....
