for the rear i am using a e30 subframe and just using a 18mm adapter from 42 drafts very nice quality, i was going to do z3 hub and brakes but i think e30 brakes are enough, its still a upgrade from stock 2002. Plus i really didnt want to take off the hub and press in a new one. Ive done it before its such a pia, so i just went with adapters for the rear. ive auto x and tracked with the adapters on my buddies e30 no problems for a season so far.
Dude the brakes. Sex
What are you using to get 5 lug at the back? Sorry if you already said. Also love how your fabing up the trans tunnel.
PS We have the same welder and tool box. No homo lol

This build is sweet
The flare looks a little awkward, but its all a work in progress.
I would have ran at the first sight of rust, but it seems like your doing a pretty decent job of restoring this thing. Good Luck man! Can't wait to see more progress
haha thanks!, the flare does look a little awkward i will finish it soon, if it doesnt come out well, plan b is to bite the bullet and buy group 2 flares which look some thing like this

Im digging this build. No hate for the s52 at all. There is nothing wrong with putting that motor in a 2002 at all, its just a bit heavy up front for some people. I am sure there are ways you could balance it out.
There was a guy a few years ago that built a twin turbo s52 2002 that had the transmission and diff located in the rear of the car just like a Porsche 944. That was a crazy build. Cool thing is he used all BMW parts besides the drive shaft adapter that is.
This thing will be a beast. I am hoping to start another 2002 build at the end of this year or the very beginning of next year if the rest of my life works out ok after Im done with what Im doing here in WA. Im planing to stick with the m20 idea sins I have the experience now, but do a turbo this time. Should be fun.
Cant wait to see more buddy!
your build was my inspiration!!! learned a lot! I cant wait for you to get another 2002!
