The weather was nice today so I decided to do a little work. First I tried to start the car just to keep the battery charged and to my surprise it just cranked and cranked. After grumbling and cursing to myself I decided to figure out why it wouldn't start. Eff.Just Effing Eff.
Checked spark, OK, Checked for fuel, OK. Decided to go ahead and change the fuel filter while I was trouble shooting. After seeing the condition of the fuel lines I made a trip to pick up enough hose to replace all the rubber fuel lines topside of the engine bay. I have a feeling that the cold start injector is stuck open, I took the intake boot off and manually operated the throttle body and a wall of fuel came gushing out of the intake.
After that I decided to check out the distributor cap, the picture below is exactly how it came out. If you notice there is something missing. Keep in mind I didn't lose any of the bolts.
Though I don't think the missing bolts were the problem, The filthy distributor cap and the moisture that had gotten inside during my initial engine washing probably was part of the problem.
Due for an air filter.
While I had things apart I decided to replace the return line for the power steering reservoir and clean everything up a bit. It looks like that one line was the source of most of the grease and grime on the drivers side of the engine bay.
