The weather was nice today so I decided to do a little work. First I tried to start the car just to keep the battery charged and to my surprise it just cranked and cranked. After grumbling and cursing to myself I decided to figure out why it wouldn't start. Eff.Just Effing Eff.
Checked spark, OK, Checked for fuel, OK. Decided to go ahead and change the fuel filter while I was trouble shooting. After seeing the condition of the fuel lines I made a trip to pick up enough hose to replace all the rubber fuel lines topside of the engine bay. I have a feeling that the cold start injector is stuck open, I took the intake boot off and manually operated the throttle body and a wall of fuel came gushing out of the intake.

After that I decided to check out the distributor cap, the picture below is exactly how it came out. If you notice there is something missing. Keep in mind I didn't lose any of the bolts.

Though I don't think the missing bolts were the problem, The filthy distributor cap and the moisture that had gotten inside during my initial engine washing probably was part of the problem.

    Due for an air filter.

While I had things apart I decided to replace the return line for the power steering reservoir and clean everything up a bit. It looks like that one line was the source of most of the grease and grime on the drivers side of the engine bay.

Nearly finished passenger door panel with houndstooth installed.

Just need to find about two more 14" weaves then it will be time for new tires.

Grey carpet didn't come as clean as I wanted but I think it'll work.

Thanks, I hope to provide frequent updates, I'm getting ready to tear into the timing belt job along with everything else I can replace during that same time. That will allow me to get a little more of the engine bay cleaned up. Still having issues with my clutch pedal sticking so it looks like my problem may be in the clutch master cylinder or elsewhere. Though after replacing the slave cylinder it seems to be working better.

Along with the new parts for my little blue sedan, A dry place to work on it was delivered, by far the best delivery aside from the H&R sports. I've still got tons of work to get my new shelter setup to my liking including a gravel floor and shelves but it is a start, much better than having to wait till dry days to work.

how much did that little parking area run you? sure would be nice to have one of these at my house back in NH, though maybe with a 3rd wall to help with heat.

Mine is a 20x26, It cost just a bit shy of 2k constructed. If I remember correctly it cost about 450.00 more if you wanted the rear enclosed. I decided to order the steel myself and enclose the ends on my own. This thing definitely beats the rotting old 12x12 shed that used to sit there. :)

First update in quite a while, Winter killed my motivation for several months but now I can get back to work. Today I washed this blue turd up and decided to go ahead and swap out the carpet and clean out the interior. I finished up the control arms and poly bushings yesterday so once I get my clutch master cylinder delivered I can take it out for a drive and see how she drives without the violent shaking and a fully functional clutch pedal.

Old carpet after I wrangled the seats out. I can proudly say I have never caused the carpet of a car to look like this.

After a lot of disgusting frustration and time out with the old, best of all, no rust to speak of. Slight corrosion around the base of the gas pedal but that was all.

In with the new, didn't get to finish up before nightfall but not much left to do but bolt the black sport seats, I've got a little more cleaning to do to them first. If all goes well I want to pull the tracks off so I can clean, paint, and grease them up.
