Yea, the 1jz would have definitely fit better than the 2jz. We had to move around a lot of stuff and had to customize the air intake on cylinder 6 to make it fit.

Not yet, we are going to wait until the fender flares are on to see how much rubber we can fit in there and still have good travel distances. Got any suggestions?

UPDATE! (4/15/2014)
Ok, so Its been a couple of months since my last update...IM SORRY! But it has been very difficult to find the wheels I needed, with a quick turn around time. BUT, do not worry..I found some! :)

So in the past month we have ordered the Ground Control Coilover Conversion Kit (Front 550, Fear 750), got a new set of wheels (16x9 and 16x10.5), 4 to 5 lug adapters, and started to mount Kamoto's Ultrawide fender flares. Originally we were planning on wrapping the tires with 255 in the front and 275 in the rear, but we might have more space to mess with. We shall see.

The wheels also came wrapped in Falken 512's 205/40/16 and Kumho Ecsta XS 215/45/16 (I know, they were stretched like crazy...I was honestly amazed) that I will be selling for pretty cheap. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Only running 215s up front for now.

O snap you have ultrawides? Damn I would really like your input on this. Are you having any rubbing issues and are you on a square setup?

What are your goals with the car? Weekend fun / show car, grip / drift, stance?

My car is 2j as well, heading towards 600whp and will be for track use (drifting). I am running 17x9 et03 up front and 17x12.5et08 in rear. I can run big tires all around no problem and its still low enough that I dont hate it

I know it might sound crazy, but this is going to be my daily for a little hahaha. Then it will become a drift/track after I buy another daily around 2016.

That's awesome you are running some huge tires, damn. I would love to run 12.5 in the back, but looking at your build thread, looks like you did some custom fender work to make it fit. I only have the Kamoto ultra wide fender flares, I don't think Ill have the same amount of space as you do.
