    UPDATE!

Been awhile, Well got the oil pan oil dump welded on and threw some paint on it and got that installed back on the car.

Finaly got my ARP's! yay! but decided to pull the trans and do the clutch before putting the head and manifolds back on,

She was a filthy mess when I got it out, Every single seal that is on the trans was leaking, input, output, detent spring cover, shifter arm etc etc, So i order every seal and the socket to get the output flange off, those should all be here on wednesday

Old OEM clutch, not in bad shape but not going to work for what im gonna need :)

Got the 260 all cleaned up, so much better now

Had to heat the fill plug to get it to come out, it was super tight.

Last saturday we had a huge rain storm come through and my garage flooded out pretty good, i was not happy, the water like on the tires shows how deep it was in the garage :/

So had to take the dowels out of the flywheel to get it turned and of course one of them snapped off, that was fun to get out....

Got this seal out, wasnt as bad as everyone says it is, well not if you have a nice pick set

and also got the detent spring cover off and got it all sealed up

Just waiting on the clutch to get here and the seals for the trans and then it all goes back together! cant wait for that, the Clutch is a Spec stage 3 so should be load of fun as my DD lol oh well, I like a heavy clutch.

You shkuld see my contraption for getting that drain plug off. I have a stamped spark plug wrench with a different size on each end. I put a 5/8 allen wrench in the 5/8 side and the out side of the other end fits nicely in the drain. A breaker bar on the allen and it pops it open every time lol

    UPDATE:

Decided to just change the clutch now, it would be stupid to not do it with the head off the car, but before i did that i got the oil pan off to weld the bung for the oil drain.

Which was a pain in the ass but got it off and all cleaned up! after the bung is welded ill hit it with some paint.

So ya, im going with a Spec stage 3, should be good for my power range and i get a discount so its a no brainer. I crawled under the car to drain the trans and quickly realized i dont have a massive allen to get the drain plug off sooooo i did some thinking and found a bolt that fits and i welded a 3/4 nut on the bottom to get a socket onto and presto! another home made tool saves the day!

[QUOTE=einstein57;3791942]I've have great results with using 3M blue vinyl fine line and then just using a strip of high temp tape to apply masking paper. Hold up fine in the oven. Just need to pull it off while its still pretty hot. Save a ton of time. Just clean the residue with kerosene or acetone.

Very good tip! ill have to try it, thanks a lot!

Got the lips sprayed in the Dormant Purple color, with the lips cleaned up!

this is the dormant color before the clear coat

and this is final product! the reason i went with such a loud color is my e30 is like the shop car so we want it to cause attention, should look hilarious on the car lol

Well still waiting fro the head studs (going on 9 days) so i decided to take my wheels to the shop and powder coat them!

    ESM 003's 17x9 and 17x7.5

The run flat sidewalls did not make removal easy lol

New tires ready to go on! Also because ESM's have the fake wheels bolts i had to drill them all out because they where all stuck. lame lame lame.

    Got them all stripped!

Had to tape off all the lips so when i bead blasted them the lips wouldnt get all pitted, that took some time.

Then after bead blasting i had to remove the blue tape and replace it with high temp tape so the lips wouldnt get powder one them and its good to 500 degrees so you can put it in the oven.

That took like 3.5 hours to tape those lips off, it sooooo better be worth it! The color is a secret for now but its going to be crazy lol

Got my package from pelican today :)

Made a little block off plate for the coolant lines and the tube for the VC breather, turned out nice id say lol

Cut my Magnaflow 14815 off the stock exhaust for use with the new turbo back I am going to be making shortly

and tore the threads out of the O2 getting it out, fail fail fail. time for a new one

Then since the gaskets came in i decided to get the manifold mounted up to the head, it so much easier on the bench then in the car. Everything bolted up nicely!

Still..... waiting on the studs to get here, ugghh
