    **** update 28 Dec 2013 ****

Since the last update, its been painted, and almost completed, just had photoshoot done and had a bit "practice".

Testing the fitment of the new bodykit

Then stripped it all off, preparing for paint

    Then did a photoshoot

    Then had a little "practice".
I'd drove it more in reverse than I had forwards before this video. lol

More video and pictures to come.

    **** update 23 November 2013 ****

Exhaust Manifolds now done, Y piece fitted, and Middle Box now in. No Backbox yet, that will be done after the new bodykit is received and fitted. I had a retard moment, thinking the only adjustment on the BC coilovers was to compress the spring, then found out about adjusting the lower nut and so ride height was raised 30mm as it was too low. Brake Servo relocated to under the passenger side dashboard. A Brake Bias Valve was fitted into the rear lines, then into the Hydro. Brakes done, and bled and so the customary Burnouts commenced.

    Burnouts:-

Could prob do with going a little lower.

    **** update 14th Nov 2013 ****

e34 540 Manifolds modified to fit onto the e30 4.0 v8. This wasn't actually too bad a job, not sure why many people whinge when it comes to modifying the manifolds to fit. It dont need to look pretty, aslong as its affective. Why anyone would need to use e34, e39 AND X5 Manifolds to make 1 is beyond me.

Anyway, here's some pics of my e34 540 Manifolds modified to fit the e30 4.0 v8 conversion.

    Passenger side:-

    Drivers Side:-

Manifolds are double skinned, but still going to add heat wrap to protect the steering UJ's.

    **** update 9 November 2013 ****

Since the first drive, on 5th Nov. Not alot seems to be done, but spent a fair bit of time doing it.

PAS cooler was plumbed in, radiator mounted with temporary brackets, radiator hoses modified to fit, temperature senders connected and wired up to the gauges. As heater matrix is removed, needed to modify the hoses at the back of the engine, connected up expansion bottle, removed thermostat, added water and bled the system, checked for leaks, fixed leaks. Mounted the front bumpers, just to check alignment for grill, wings, bonnet and arches, as I have new body kit on order.

It was just Hammerite paint. Its probably overkill, using that, but its a clean shell so worth trying to keep it good. Also undersealed the underneath of the car.

This is me, in my old e36 328 with M50 Manifold, about 217bhp with a 3.91 diff.

    3.91, from a 325 touring. If its too short, I'll try a 325 coupe/saloon at 3.64.
4th/5th gear entry skids are certainly possible, with 3rd gear hairpins is what I'm expecting.
1st gear will prob be useless, so thinking about starting off in 2nd.

Woah, that's on the short side. Is it because you've got a 4.10 or is it some other rear with the fault being the transmission?

And yes, you shouldn't have any problems getting that bitch sideways, especially with that short gearing and awesome torque curve :)

With the e30 325 diff I have in now, at 7,000 revs I should be doing:-
    2nd gear - 50mph
    3rd - 75mph
    4th - 102mph
    5th - 125mph
    6th - 150mph

Thats using a ratio calculator based on a e36 M3 Evo which I think using same 6 speed gearbox. Dont think I'll be on the limiter much, as it will prob drift in any gear above 3k revs. I know people with similar setup, and they drifted in 5th at around 85mph.

The nice thing about v8 drifting is that you don't have to be on the r3v limiter non stop... that sort of nonsense is reserved for four bangers and non v8s, ect.

Then again, if you're killin it like a boss.... you'll be on the limiter often :)

I think you'll be fine with that huge radiator. I'm not sure which one Travis is using, but I'm using the Mishimoto MZ3 triple core, it's enormous. I also have a cheap Hayden 16" electric pusher fan in front of it. My needle has never moved past the half way point on the gauge. That includes everything from sitting in 90+ degree non-moving traffic for hours, to beating the crap out of the car on back roads, etc... But, I know drifting is a different story because you're basically on the rev limiter for long periods of time while barely moving.
