Thanks guys.
Forgot to mention that I polished it on Friday so it's super shiny now. Sealed it with Caranuba wax and will rewax this week for that extra seal. No idea how long the shine will last, but I'll do my best to keep it around.
Also, I ripped out the carpet in prep for the new carpet. I'll start on that this week and get some detailed photos of the project.
I'll also get a few shots of my headliner. I'ts in rough shape, but could possibly be saved. Just don't know if I want to replace it, or dye it black for the time being. Never dyed a headliner and this would be a good car to do it to.
Photos to come this week. Or even today. I'm at work but I'm not really doing much. Time may be better spent working on the car.

Been driving the car around all weekend and more today. It runs pretty good now. Still can't wonder how EFI will change the car, or turbo. I really really want to turbo this car. I've gotten used to the 150 furious horsepowers of this car. I need another hundred.
Here is another quick snapshot from earlier this evening. The 71 Type 2 Bus may become a future project.

This little car is so great. The color is growing on me, and I feel better when the car looks better. And right now the car feels good.Leave a comment:

I've used the home depot peel n seal stuff in a previous e30 and it really does work, though it's probably fair to say that it wasn't designed with sound deadening in mind. This time around, I wanted to use a product with a specific purpose.
So I did some research and a lot of guys have had great success with this company and their product. And if you tell them you found them on a forum, they usually give you $10 off or 10% off your purchase.
They are much cheaper than dynamat. They all do relatively the same thing. No sense in spending an extra $100 for a few pieces of hidden mat with a stamped "dynamat" logo on it.
Gotcha, thanks very much for the info man. Ill be sure to put it to good use.Leave a comment:

Also, threw a fresh mirror on this morning.
I'll be removing it tomorrow, so not sure why I did that.

I just bought a set of front bumperettes designated for early 2002s and 1600s. They are much lower profile than the current bumper overriders for the front. In the same order, I purchased rear bumper seam covers. Very euro but I want to see how they clean the car up, aesthetically.
I should have those on next week.Leave a comment:

Awesome build you have going. Your updates are always a good read.
One day I hope to do something like this with my grandpa's 02. Its been sitting for a long time and I look forward to a time when I can bring it back to its former glory.
Regarding the sound deadener and ensolite, what would you recommend that I use to keep out noise? When I pull my carpets I assumed that my only option would be dynamat, but I'd love to know of some other good options.I've used the home depot peel n seal stuff in a previous e30 and it really does work, though it's probably fair to say that it wasn't designed with sound deadening in mind.
