    Melissa 88 325iS

I've debated starting a thread, but the time has come where I've researched about as much as I've been able to before I needed to ask a few questions that i couldn't find.

one being... how the fuck do i post pictures. the stupid picture icon doesn't work. - Thank you ButtJuice, took a couple posts but I got it down. :)

Anyhow, here's the very first picture of Melissa.

I bought here after selling Rosemary, my 65 VW Type 3 Notchback project I had for about 3 months
    she started like this

and ended up with a five lug swap, camel hair interior and I did all the body work before I sold her. Drivers side fender was saved instead of replaced because I found a flame on it, unfortunately the othe side didn't have one, and there were no more on the body other than the one. Should have done a better job of saving the patina, but I had to fix the rust.

She was a work in progress and I got a great deal on her, did a shitload of work to her and sold her for a good profit.

In the background you can see my 56 GMC and my 02 VF supercharged e46 Touring

I bought Melissa off a guy in Sacramento. The panels were all stuffed in the trunk, and in the floorboard and scattered around there were about 35 switches and severed pigtails with connectors for all of them (score, unbeknownst to me at the time). Having never owned an e30 I had no idea what they were, or why there were so many, but I got freaked out because of all the wires dangling everywhere. The Fuel pump was jury rigged with a gum wrapper and a paper clip.

I renegotiated a good price and brought it home. Called AAA and got it brought to me for free. Score.

I scored a free 325i 91 body and borrowed my neighbors garage in exchange for getting her car up to snuff and pass Smog

And now I'm in the process of swapping everything over

The Lachs will get the s50
the brilliantrot well get the m20 and will eventually be built for my daughter.

I've done a lot more work than the pictures show, as the Lachs has gotten a new windshield, cosmoline stripped, got the M20 running pretty good but there are still things to be replaced, I'll do it when I swap.

I just pulled the S50 and I'm buying parts, so it might be a minute before I update with everything I do to it.

I plan on pulling the subframe from the Brilliantrot since it has no motor, and reinforcing it and mocking up everything on that for an easy swap in.

I ordered Euro bumpers and trim rings, and they'll both be powdercoated black chrome, as well as the window trim. It should accent the Lachs pretty well, or at least I'm hoping.

I have a membership to Techshop (techshop.com) and my first attempt at powder coating was an awesome experience....except by the time I took the 3 hour class to be able to use the equipment it was 830 pm and I'd been awake since 5, had class, drove to San Jose an hour away and was so tired I forgot to mask and got powder coat on the gasket surface. DOH! haha Lesson learned. I got another valve cover from pick n pull a couple days later.

This is the start of my thread and I'll post updates and questions as I get them. Cheers :)
