great job
One of the best m-tech 2s I have seen out there. BTW, check with local smog rules before you do the swap; of course you most likely know that:)
Looking forward to seeing pictures of the interior and swap!

Project: Evil M-Tech II Sedan

Hey guys so sorry I have not responded to this thread. The M-Tech Sedan project has been slowly moving forward. In the months since I posted this the only major thing I've done was a full Bilstein Sport shocks and H&R springs to lower it just a bit.
I recently made the jump from the NYC/NJ area to sunny southern California so that had me very busy.
Here she is about to make the journery

And finally arriving in California, although on a cloudy day.

Here it is as it sits today, awaiting it's swap.

Speaking of swaps, here is the M50 I picked up from a local forum member. Got a pretty good deal for the whole package.

Im hoping to have the swap done in the next few months. Im currently sourcing all the other parts needed for the swap. Got the pedals, oil pan and tube. Next Im getting the wiring adapter to go from M20 to M50 easier.
And after that the design interior is going to get some work done. I think by the end of this year this sedan will be "done" (are they ever really?)
Thanks guys.Leave a comment:

Looks great! So I am going to be installing my all OEM Mtech II kit soon as well. Did you have directions on how the kit is installed or did you just wing it? We are doing a similar build exterior wise!Leave a comment:

Just a quick update. Got the car back home and began putting it together. Started on the front of the car, still lots of tweaking to do there to align things just a tad better. Hope to begin cleaning up the interior tonight.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the photo may make the letters look a little off. I had them laser cut and then I used the template from the cut letters to line them up. As for the size I matched the size of the M3 badge width and height wise and made the letters about the size I needed in order to match the space around the letters. Anyways let me finish up the car and mount it on the grill. I test fitted it and it looks pretty accurate. I'll be posting those photos soon.Good job tackling this job and reproducing parts. Regarding the M tech badges, they are good but the letters need to be straight and the black background is a little too large. As for the front door sills, what you did was great...looks good! but couldn't you just cut the M tech coupe door sills down to fit the sedan?
As for the door sills, yeah I thought of cutting a set but I guess I rather just wait to find an used set. Im sure they'll pop up one day.
Thanks!Leave a comment:
