Brake light check light came back so I broke down and ordered a new brake pedal switch and coolant level sensor. I just can't stand check lights. The car should work as intended!

I am not overly impressed with the a/c. I have a nice/used bosch compressor on it now, but it leaves much to be desired. I might pick up a new one at some point. At least the air is cooler than ambient.

I had a chance to wash the car, followed by a waterless wash wipe down, detail spray wipe down and coat of brilliant glaze. Surprisingly, the paint is in pretty good condition, but a full correction is soon to happen. Here are a few pics of the results:

I kept getting the pesky brake light check light so I decided to tear apart the light panels and sand all the contacts down. I also stretched the springs to create more bulb retainment pressure. So far it had done the trick. Hopefully the new coolant level sensor fixes that check light and then no more check lights!

Can somebody, anybody tell me why there was oil (I think rear diff) seeping through the floorboard behind the driver's seat? I mean seriously? I see some pretty nasty/thick/hard gray sealant behind the seat and some kind of hard tar. NO IDEA how anything could penetrate that. Could it be because I had the ass of the car up in the air for a few hours yesterday while I was working on fuel tank? How would this fluid leak? Pinion seal on rear diff? WTF?

Dry as a bone this morning. Threw in 5 gallons of gas, so we'll see if this patch holds!

Well turns out the underside of this car has a lot of rust. Yikes! This is concerning and extremely rare for Colorado cars. So I'm not sure what, if any problems this rust will lead to down the road.

The rust was the cause of my fuel leak. I picked up an epoxy patch kit and hopefully this will resolve the issue.

I also installed the 2nd new FPR today. Maybe bosch is not the right manufacturer to go with. Any suggestions? What is the OE FPR?

I feel like I am playing Whac-A-Mole with these problems that I fix and have pop up again!

I received a box of goodies from Pelican. Mahle Oil filter, Mahle air filter (installed) and some black lug nuts + a few miscellaneous parts.





I reeked of fuel today. Yuck!! I hate working on fuel leaks. The e30 has had a long couple of weeks. Here is a quick pic of him chillin next to his babe

well this is frustrating. I filled up with fuel today and it's leaking again right where I put that new hose. I really hope I don't have a hole in the tank. Had to siphon out a bunch of fuel so it would stop leaking. This totally sucks! I hate leaks,,,, but especially leaking fuel!

Hey guys.. quick update regarding the leak. There was pretty heavy rain happening yesterday, so I took the car out for some errands and left it parked outside for a while. Not a single drop inside the cabin or trunk!!! 8)

Isnt there a lockout button on the dash? Mine has one next to the rear window defrost? ( the very left button)

Early model cars have it in the dash and late model have it in the console.

jd_e30, your car is a late model (obviously) but has an early model console.
