So I ran into an issue today... I bought a new starter for the m60 since it did not turn over with the old one. Well anyways I'll let the pictures speak for themselves..

Ya the guy said compression #s are 183-193... Bullshit!
I have no idea what to do... There was water shooting out of the spark plug holes.. Even tho the oil is pitch black. I'm going to take the engine apart and check the head gaskets this week or something I think. I just hope I don't need to get into pistons and rings.. Or block for that matter.

damn dude that sucks I would at least go back and complain to the guy.

I know these blocks are aluminum would you have to get it resurfaced if you took the heads off? or just the cyl heads?

Once the cylinder wall is damaged it either needs to be sleeved or over bored and retreated.

The retreating option is ridiculous expensive. Something to do with silicon and unicorns blood.

                    Nikasil?

Is this really the engine with the nikasil issue. I would chose another platform.

i meant just the flat surface of the block, like if the cyl head warps it has to be resurfaced, does that apply with the aluminum block? or is it strong enough to stay flat?

                        Yes and no.

The belief now is that if it's lasted this long, the Nikisil thing is a moot point.

Besides the fact that most of them were replaced under warranty anyways.

                            reporting back.. with nothing. lol
i have been to busy packing things and moving to even work on this car.
But i had decided to pull it apart and see if i can see any damage to the cylinders? the block was replaced under warranty already.. so maybe the comp numbers are low because it sat so long. I dont want to throw away an engine without looking at it first.
this project will probably take a pause until January once i come back home since i will be moving away until then to make some money to have the car finished by bimmerfest lmao!
