    $1500 Convertible - Alpine/Cardinal Red

Hey guys, this is the convertible I got this past weekend.

My dad’s friend saw it on a website similar to craigslist in Tennessee. All the ad said was “$1500, runs and drives but needs seat repair”. I called the guy and set up a time where dad’s friend could look at it. Turns out it's only gone about 3000 miles since 2009. Everything sounded good so he ended up getting the car for us.

So, Saturday, we drove up to Kingsport, TN with a bunch of parts to replace to ensure that it got home to Atlanta without any issues. We did the timing belt, tensioner, thermostat, water pump, coolant hoses, oil change, and bled the brakes- all in less than 16 hours. It made it home without any issues and ran great.

    Details:
    1990 325iC
    130,000 miles
Alpine White with Cardinal Red interior
    Sony headunit with factory tweeters
    3.73 LSD
    Heated Seats
    Cruise Control
    All stock

Overall, it’s in really nice shape. The paint shines, no body damage, and the dash is almost perfect. There are a few trim pieces that need to be fixed or replaced and of course the rear seat is toast. But, we did score a brand new rear seat upholstery kit on ebay for $159 shipped. Also, has a couple small holes in the top that can be patched. Otherwise just needs maintenance.

Today I decided to continue cleaning it up and take some pictures. I love driving this car! On to the pics…

Degreasing the engine bay. Had to park sideways because I live on a huge hill and the hood shock is shot.

    I'm loving these cardinal mats.

    Low miles

Rear Seat kit from eBay and my speaker cover.

    Engine after it's first wash.

And my 318is because why not.:p

    A steal.

I wonder what my AW2 with blue top would look like with cardinal.

Haha, yeah I saw that one too. It was an '87. Scary how similar it was but he wanted like $3000 I think.

Painted some trim and the grilles today. Also noticed the wipers don't really work. Takes some fiddling around with the switch for anything to happen. Usually only high speed works but not always. Any advice on what to do?

That will need to shrink a lot. Who was the seller?

Yeah, I'm hoping that after the car sits in the sun for a while it will shrink. If not, we might take it out and make some adjustments. The kit is actually very high quality. It came from World Upholstery.

holy crap!!!!! you have got to be kidding right?

nice car op. you are going to need to take those seats back out and tighten up the leather/pleather. i assume for the price that those covers are imitation leather?

those wrinkles won't go away on their own.

Yeah, that's what I figured. They actually are real leather. We got the kit from a guy on ebay selling a bunch of seat covers for different cars. It was $159 and we took a risk and bought it without any real pictures. The box showed up and said World Upholstery on it. If you go to their website, they sell them for over $1000.
