Hey guys, this is the convertible I got this past weekend.
My dad’s friend saw it on a website similar to craigslist in Tennessee. All the ad said was “$1500, runs and drives but needs seat repair”. I called the guy and set up a time where dad’s friend could look at it. Turns out it's only gone about 3000 miles since 2009. Everything sounded good so he ended up getting the car for us.
So, Saturday, we drove up to Kingsport, TN with a bunch of parts to replace to ensure that it got home to Atlanta without any issues. We did the timing belt, tensioner, thermostat, water pump, coolant hoses, oil change, and bled the brakes- all in less than 16 hours. It made it home without any issues and ran great.
Details:
1990 325iC
130,000 miles
Alpine White with Cardinal Red interior
Sony headunit with factory tweeters
3.73 LSD
Heated Seats
Cruise Control
All stock
Overall, it’s in really nice shape. The paint shines, no body damage, and the dash is almost perfect. There are a few trim pieces that need to be fixed or replaced and of course the rear seat is toast. But, we did score a brand new rear seat upholstery kit on ebay for $159 shipped. Also, has a couple small holes in the top that can be patched. Otherwise just needs maintenance.
Today I decided to continue cleaning it up and take some pictures. I love driving this car! On to the pics…
Degreasing the engine bay. Had to park sideways because I live on a huge hill and the hood shock is shot.
I'm loving these cardinal mats.
Low miles
Rear Seat kit from eBay and my speaker cover.
Engine after it's first wash.
And my 318is because why not.:p
