Just a heads up, I have a completely dismantled 88 325iS in Long Beach.

I have everything and I mean everything to build up an e30. And this car was nice. Don't ask me why it's dismantled, because I won't tell you.

Just saying, I want to see your little car grow, and am willing to help make all of your wildest dreams come true.

Nice car. Make sure you do your timing belt if it hasn't been done....

Alright so an update on the E30..
As previously mentioned, the battery and thermostat were replaced. Starts up fine now, had an issue with the cooling system but since I changed the thermostat and also now the fan clutch, the cooling system is working perfectly.
The engine runs pretty crappy on start up though, had a rough idle. We replaced the spark plugs, and after that we also took off the the valve cover to check out the valves and adjust them.

They were pretty off. After adjusting them, it ran a lot quieter, but it still ran sluggish. So after that we did a compression test and found out there is no compression on cylinders 1 & 6. I'm thinking some of the valves are bent/stuck, or the piston rings are gone.
We're going to look more into to it, but were most likely going to swap in another M20.

But I did get the interior spotless, so hey at least that's good lol. I'll post up some more pics soon.

            Cheers

2 months later with a lot of updates..
So we took off the head with the suspicion of bent valves, and yes that's what it was, 2 bent valves.

We found the valve wasn't going all the way down. So I decided to take the head to a machine shop to get worked on.

This was how my e30 looked for a while.

The head came out great and shiny. Love it
They replaced the bent valves, did a valve job, resurface and pressure checked the head. Everything was good and it was ready to go back on the block.

You guys like the head bolts that were on the car? Haha. Fail. (Got new ones)

Also put in a fresh radiator.

Had the intake manifold cleaned while it was off. It was black and covered in gunk before.

Cleaned up the Pistons and block surface. I like seeing everything nice and clean!

And this is how she sits at the moment.

We got the head back on. Needed some last minute stuff we forgot, so gonna hopefully have the car finished and running by tonight! I'll let u guys know how it goes!

Got some more done with the car. Almost finished it. Just a little more, but called it a night.

Timing belt on, with new water pump. Also shiny and clean.

Finally some proper head bolts on lol

And that's all for tonight. Yay.

You should take the engine out and clean up the bay while your at it.

Yeah, why did you stop your cleaning? The top is all shiny and your block is filthy. BTW, you might want to check/replace the starter while you can put your hands in there.

Engine bay will be getting a proper pressure washing after the car is running; block included.
