HahahahahahaYou can't put a German engine into a British vehicle. It would start and run every time you needed to drive it somewhere... it wouldn't be British anymore!
You need a Jaguar V12 for a Land Rover. That would achieve the appropriate level of unreliability.

Much work. Pulled the dizzy caps and what do ya know...they're original, dated 91.
This thing is sooooo dirty. Will probably end up using a 750 harness as this engine is from an 850 w/manual trans.

Love seeing all dem runners.....

Basically going to tear it down, do the typical clean up and painting of covers, then reassemble with new gaskets. Think I'll go for a green and gold scheme for the intake...and maybe do the valve covers with a nice union jack.
I'll convert the throttles to manual throttles, and put them on the back of the intake with the air filter in the cowl and dual snorkels up each side of the windshield.
I've heard that chain slack can cost a bit of power in these things, so for the price, I'll just replace it with a new chain and guides. They aren't too much $$.Leave a comment:

M&M has an entire trans core, but won't come off of just the BH. There is a 750 at the PaP in Fredricksburg. Thinking of going to get the motor for a spare, and then the BH and TC, but that is a fooking lot of work in a yard.Leave a comment:

Sorry guys, I've already bought a bunch of shit to fit this thing in the Rover.
P38 steering box. Sits outside the frame, as opposed to the RRC one that sits inside.

On that note, I got some 29mm DOM to make a drag link. Figured if I'm doing this, I'll make it bullet proof.

I have a Disco 1 frame with trans on it that I'll use for mockup. Going to weld on some ears for the engine mounts, instead of making custom mounts.
M70 is 25" wide, from alternator to AC compressor. It's such a nice package. 300hp, 350tq......I think that'll do pig. That'll do.
...and I read you can get near 4 hundo with software.....Leave a comment:
