Dude what's this thing weigh!? Haha.
Nice - I like DIY stuff.

I think you'll benefit from a dump pipe for the wastegate instead of recirc.

        Thanks at everyone.
And yea, i have to admit I was pretty shocked how much this thing weighs with all pieces together, not so much a lightweight build:).

If I would be driving around here with an open dump, it would take half an hour at longest until the cops would completely freak out after seeing whats under my hood.....not good
I'm anyway thinking about rebuilding the downpipe with 3,5" material, so that it doesnt reduce after the turbo, also I'm not so happy about the recirc the way it is now, clearance around the shock tower is very tight....

What are your intake temps like with the intercooler how it sits, not that much open to the grill. Still much better than the effort I had where it sat behind the headlight. I am addresing this issue with the below intercooler. Note I am going to shift it up a bit just need to grind a bracket down of the intercooler and then the boost pipes sneak between the headlamp support. Running 2.5 inch on the hot with a 2.5 inch to 3inch on the outlet. You can also slit the kidney grill and rad grills for even more forced air. What radiator are you using, doesnt look like the normal e28 one.

          Love the manifold

On the hotside of the intercooler I'm using a 90° silicone coupler, which is a reducer from 3" (intercooler) to 2,25" (piping). Cold side is all the way 3", if you cut the headlight frame a bit it sits there just fine. Yea, it does not get that much fresh air from the front, but I got the electric fan squeezed in between the intercooler and radiotor, this thing also sucks air through the intercooler. And I made a huge cutout in the front valance behind the bumper.
Temps don't climb over 15-20°C above ambient, even under hard driving. But this only applies to cool weather, 10-15°C. I'll see next summer whats it like in hot weather.

            Radiator is E32 735i

Opps didnt put my intercooler arrangement

Hopefully it will be fine in the warmer weather if not then not too hard to flip it so you get more frontal area just weld new pipes onto your end cans. I too need to get a fan between the rad and intercooler what did you get a 52mm deep 16inch SPAL?

I got a 63mm deep Spal, outer diameter 382mm (Spal 102014). This thing really moves some air, but it's very loud. Annoying if driving along slowly in town....currently working on a pwm controlled solution with a friend of mine, to get the rpm of the fan down when it's not necessary

Sorry to be a pain cannot find that fan, do you have a link to it? Not too fussed about the noise, I will run in two speed mode. My old fan when the engine was sat in the Alpina position was loud (BMW original with on the 333i) but rarely went to the 2nd speed and when it did it didnt stay on for long. Better to be cool. Yes a pwm solution will be good.

think i have found the model number va08-ap51/c-23s straight blade blowing fan. For some reason the usual uk sites do not have it, looks like ebay from Poland or might try your shop and see how much shipping is. Might even be able to get a German colleague to bring over.

Seems like no one in the UK has the fan assuming it is the part number I have found. Do you have any paperwork to confirm that the part number I found. Have spoken to a couple of UK distrubutors who have said they only import certain models. The listing in Poland is for the va08-ap51/c-23s with only £12 delivery to the UK so not too bad but want to make sure it is the correct one.

                          Cheers

In case someone is interested....put that thing on a dyno on friday. Wasn't expecting that much, especially the torque . These are crank numbers from a Dynomite hub dyno, 21psi, tapering down to around 20 after 5000rpm. My 56mm Borg Warner S200 seems to be at it's limit, doesn't really want to make any more boost over 5000rpm, very little response to changes of the boost controller.
Despite the Dynomite beeing a loaded dyno, spool is still 500rpm late....
Note, that this is still the 2mm thick stock Elring head gasket, just with ARP head studs

Great dyo #'s..!!! car must be a blast to drive. Well done.
Look into the BWSX300, that 56mm is too small for sure.

Yeah, next Turbo is going to be an S300 for sure.
G&T aren't you running a S366 with the 80/73 turbine? When does this thing spool on a M30?
