LateFan: They say water-to-air is much more efficient than air-to-air.
Why I chose it was that I didn't want that typical 10inch thick cell pack in front of the car, which makes the cooling effect very low. Now it's only engine radiator + oilcooler front mounted which will have a good amount of fresh air.
Secondly I try to compensate M30 + components' weight by transferring parts towards rear end.
The whole setup without fluid weighs the same as comparable air-to-air cooler. If the weight seems to be a problem, I can just fill the water reservoir to minimum ;D
BTW. Intercooler locates just behind the firewall, I can make very short charge pipes that way:
Pandaboo911: I guess we have a different theory about building a grip car

E30 Street/TimeAttack (M30 twincharged widebody project)
That photo is of a test fit, just saying. Also that's not an intercooler.
And yeah my theory is definitely different because I would have started with an e36 for grip racing lol. Don't take criticism the wrong way, everyone has their way of doing things. I still think this build is sick.
I dig the 3rd brake light deal, not everyone has deep pockets. Improvisation at its best ;)Last edited by pandaboo911; 04-30-2015, 11:15 PM.

All jokes aside. This is a badass build.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"
