My wife and I bought a 325ic nearly 20 years ago. As I'm sure everyone is aware, the E30 is an awesome car. We've loved it, and taken care of it, although 20 years is a long time for a car, so it had accumulated the normal dings, dents, and slowly decaying interior for a car of its age.
When we looked around for something new to replace it, we realized that there really isn't anything out there that has the same… whatever it is that this car has.
So we decided to give it a nice refresh, and drive it on into the future. I've always had a thing for old cars, and always felt like the E30 vert was very similar to the '66 MG that I used to drive, at least in the way it feels to drive.
I started by taking it to our mechanic, explaining what we were about to do, and having them do a full once over on the car. Since we'd been keeping up with the maintenance, there wasn't a whole lot to do. New exhaust, timing belt, a few random lights (OBC and AC switch), windshield washer pump.
Then off to the bodyshop. I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story…
