Tip will go on in August, have to set up an appointment for the shop to put it on.
Rattle cans work great on wheels, and lots of parts....someday my car will be taken apart and painted:)

Thank you for the post with the front dam install.
The front and rear ACS pieces are similar, I imagine, for installation. It just gets screwed into the valence. I intend to use some double sided tape, too.
How did you line it up? Just eyeball? Measure? Template?Comment

On my 85 323i and with the hartge spoiler, I had to remove the lower front valance. You can do a test fit and see if your's will go on. I would have liked to have left the valance on, but the spoiler would not go on at all. No reason to use tape on mine..... 4 bolts will hold it in place. Not like it can fall off driving down the road....unless you hit something:)
I lined everything up and made sure I had the driver side where it should go. The lip of the spoiler has to go inside the lip of the fender. Then you can see the fender hole and bumper hole. Use a very small drill and drill below where you think the hole for the bumper will line up. You can measure the space between the spoiler and fender if you like. Then your drill bit should come out at the bottom of the bumper hole. Then use bigger and bigger bits until you have the hole big enough for the bumper screw, or bolt to go on. For the most part you are not going to get a perfect fit, because the cars are old and out of alignment.
Most important thing is to use the clamp, or you will have not be able to keep anything aligned. The bumper bolt will keep everything in place while you drill the spoiler hole using the same method. Note the spoiler bolt is the one closest to the wheel well. the bumper bolt is the one more to front of the car.
Maybe it is obvious, but if you drill in the wrong place with the spoiler not aligned you are going to hit yourself in the head with a hammer; or a least want too:)
Hope that helps,

Thanks, it has been a great project.
This morning I worked on the lights...now every outside light works. I think it has been years since the city-lights have worked. Have to get one more bulb for the fog light and a few bulbs for the cluster and the car will be set....
Calling the exhaust shop to get an appointment for next week to have the tip put on:).
Then I have to work on the side decals. I have a set, but I think I want to make a copy to put the cheap copy on first, so I have a 'back-up' set for when I paint the car....
We will see.
I would like to start working on the gauges too..

That looks very sharp.
Your paint photographs nicely, hardly in need of a respray.
Super clean bumpers!Comment

Thank you Barron and jm for all of the details on the front end. It looks great - I can't wait to get started on mine. I just use it as a daily right now so I haven't had the time to get it done.
Also, my car is an 85 but I still have to wait 5 more years to register as a classic in KS. :curse:
It looks great so far. I think I might be straying away from a tribute... I itch for an S52 or something... but that's the last thing on the list so we'll see haha. I just want to enjoy it and not fret about being perfect in the process.
Great to see your progress as always. Keep it up!Comment

Looks like the car was painted a few years back...might not be original paint....It looks like about 7.5 out of 10 in real life, but it is really nice for an old e30:). Maybe next year the car will be taken apart and repainted. I just don't want to do a super cheap or expensive job on the car....

You could do the hartge body with an s52. Make it your own car. I know mine is not 'perfect' in regards to the hartge parts, but it was what I could find and it looks 100% better than when I first got the car....need to work on the interior now:)Comment
