To be honest, I wish I could say I ever had a VW with an engine bay that was that nice to start with.
Those are some nice looking VW's. I've been doing my research on Vortex and have learned that the CIS is not to be fucked with. If it ever does go south I will go with side draft carbs, I think the look and sound are awesome. Thanks for the heads-up on the headers, I'd still like to go with straight pipe exhaust at some point. I've always thought VW engine bays looked messy coming from BMW which IMO has everything nicely tucked away but I'm finding that these are quite simple to work on. I'm just a bit frustrated right now and feeling a little duped but in time I am sure I will completely fall in love with this car and its quirks.

No problem. At this point I think I am going to get it road-worthy and call it a day for the time being. I love the E-code headlights but they will have to wait for now.

Might drop a line to the company Autotech they used to have tons of stuff maybe they have some NIB hidden away in the back if they are in business.

Haven't owned a VW in over 13 years so been out of the know.

CIS is solid, people that bash it simply do not understand how it works or how to work on it for that matter. If it runs well now don't let it sit for extended periods of time without starting it. Old fuel can gum up the fuel distrbutor if you leave it sitting.

Looks like a nice Scirocco. Once upon a time I had a black 87 with a built up 2.0 in it. I loved that car but it was super beat. I day dream about finding a nice stock 16v one but the last thing I need is another car.
