Whats up guys? I am going to attempt to make a decent build thread for my new e30. This is my other e30 an alpine white '87 325is that needs a shit load of work. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5502/...6916ec60_b.jpg I don't plan on ever selling either of these and hope to restore them into some of the best examples out there. I wanted to make a build thread on the e30 that I picked up about three months ago. Im about to lose my license for a couple of months so I should have plenty of updates coming soon. Its a '87 convertible that had been resprayed Inka orange about 10 years ago. It was orignially diamondschwartz. I bought this car for $2500 and at the time of purchase it seemed like a decent deal. Which it turned out not to be but you will see why later. This was from the day that I picked it up.https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8578/...da2ec4a9_b.jpg
I decided to use a uhaul dolly to tow it back to my house. Mainly because the car didn't come with any service records and I had no idea when the last time the timing belt was replaced and didn't want it to snap on the way back to my house. I didn't really mind the fact that it didn't come with any records because I had the car up on a lift before I bought it and could tell that it had a good amount of recent work done. It had a new gas tank, which hopefully means it got a new fuel pump/s. Engine/tranny mounts seemed fairly new, good guibo, newish tires, MT1 steering wheel, recently reupholstered seats, and manual top that is in good condition. There are a few things that I know that need to be replaced like the axles, I replaced the timing belt with a Gates racing belt already, a new battery is needed, the ugly shift knob needs to be replaced with my ZHP knob, fix the cracked dash or swap the dash from the IS, front shocks, and I will need to learn how to weld. Ive done it once before but will hopefully be a pro soon. Why I need to become good at welding quickly.

I hate New England for this reason. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7680/...67b0a1cd_b.jpg https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8851/...03060452_b.jpg I am very broke right now so I did some parts swapping from my other e30. I swapped the visors, door pulls and map pockets, mirrors H&R race/Bilstein sports. Spent the rest of my funds on things like tb/tensioner/wp, alt belt and bracket before i pulled the carpet which was probably a bad idea. Some pics from the tb replacement. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8845/...7f3ed6ae_b.jpg Then my first casualty occured https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8717/...e340f648_b.jpg This is my former e36 that I sold to a friend. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7699/...ee3ac27e_b.jpg
