Some more good news...I managed to get a buddy into an E39! He's definitely a car guy, lots of Porsche and VW history. He currently owns a Maserati Q-port, a Westy and a Crown Vic Police Interceptor.

I've been working on putting him in a Bimmer for years. I'll post some pics when the car shows up!

      Updates!!

I changed out all the fluids & filters with a quickie tuneup. Motor oil & filter, transmission lube, diff lube, air filter, NGK spark plugs. Broke that stupid plastic radiator drain plug though. OEM replacement part on the way.

It's been running very well except for a high-RPM hesitation. Not sure what that's about. DME reports 1444 'all clear' code.

Then I spent some time with the electronics. Most importantly, a new brake switch. Swapped out the 13-button OBC for a working spare, got a stereo code from my dealer, replaced all the burned-out light bulbs (including that oddball w5w halogen interior light), and then reset the SI board.

The electrical system was in great shape although there were many incorrect fuses. I swapped them all back to OEM open-top type fuses at original ratings. I also removed a paperclip that was shorting out the cigar lighter. That got the power antenna working, but that still needs a new mast. The car needed an outer headlight and two marker lights too.

I've also put the car up for sale. If it doesn't sell this season I'll hold it over the winter and sell it in the spring. Anyone interested in a really solid car? No rust that I could find...this car was originally from Florida. Purchased new in Orlando and registered in Winter Park.

Discount price for R3v'ers...only $2500... Here's my R3v FS post and local CL ad.

Hey I should creep harder for fellow 'Burghers on r3v. Do you ever make it out to any meetups like the C&C up at Generoasta? Need more people rocking God's Chariot out here :p
