    Some things to do:

    - Remove and modify wiper linkage for monowiper, order LHD cowl vent

    - Clean filthy engine bay

    - Ensure M30 oil bar banjo bolts are torqued, any other maintenance

    - Mount bumpers

    - Driver side ZKW fog light wiring (can't find it)

    - Order terminals for ZKW fog light (61131378401?), washer bottle

    - Clean and paint misc. items

    - Relocate battery to rear

    - Sell parts, to buy more parts

I would modify the linkage before you install the m30. It will be easier to pull the old one out and install the new modify one. That you don't mind beating up your hands.

I have a nice 6-point box end wrench that works well. Leave the car in gear and/or the wheels on the ground to lock the DS in place and put some grunt behind it. Worst case cut the open end off of the wrench and use a cheater bar on the end.

Oh my yes. Upon the M20 being removed, I will get to the linkage.

Is it 10mm or 11mm the linkage needs to be relocated? JB Weld works?

            Transmission

I ordered a rebuilt transmission from Andrew Zimmerman of Drive Gear. They are offered through Guten Parts and come with the recommendation of many.

While the transmission is not yet installed, I do have this bit to offer. I paid via PayPal just this past weekend. He packed it up and freighted it the very next day. Located in New Jersey put them at just a long enough trip to justify the expense of shipping. Today, I came home to this:

            It was well packed inside:

I love how clean it is. The attention to detail I am sure is carried on to the internals:

Once things get bolted up, I will give more feedback. I am impressed so far!

The heatshields, headlight backers, really anything laying around the garage will be cleaned before it gets put back on. Some surface rust here and there has been brushed off, been painted with RustReformer and will eventually get a coat of something else.. maybe a silver color? Bolt heads have been cleaned, crud removed from their threads.

Tomorrow is scheduled to be the big day. The M20 and trans come out. Take some time to clean up the engine bay from the last 26 years of leaks, spills and road grime. Then mate the M30 to the rebuilt trans... and maybe even set it in. Luckily this M30 is drop in E30 ready; it was previously installed into an E30.

And I found the issue with the fog lights in my DB to plastic bumper swap:

In a not very proud moment, I realized I have the fog wiring.. just when the iS dam was removed, the harness was not completely disconnected. I need ZKW fog pigtails.. or just order new plugs/terminals if I knew the part number.

In the future are you planning to use m30 headers? Are you looking for AC Schnitzer headers?

ACS M30 headers.. I am always interested in one more piece to the puzzle. For the motor going in, being previously installed into an E30, the headers and exhaust are already modified.

Tell me Raul... you have a set of ACS M30 headers in a kitchen cabinet somewhere

M30 is in... the driveway. Life getting in the way of things.

Going over the motor there are a lot of little things I will address. I am making a list here to keep track of things for me.

                  13711726133 INTAKE MANIFOLD (to 04/88) 0.32 1 $16.14
                  11617549043 CAP NUT - M6 0.02 8 $2.74
                  11431718861 DIPSTICK 0.06 1 $64.26 :(
                  07119963151 GASKET RING - A12X17-CU 1 $0.58
                  11131273093 SCREW PLUG - M12X1,5 0.04 1 $1.93
                  12121716299 PROTECTION CAP 0.19 1 $12.95

The ignition wiring cover which rests atop the valve cover; it seems NLA?

Need a 22mm deep socket to remove oil pressure sensor on M20 to go to M30.

Relocate clutch slave from car and move to Getrag 260.

                  Remove driveshaft.

                  Yank M20.

Driveshaft out. Clutch slave out. Fuel lines disconnected. I think this thing is ready to come out!

Broke the throttle cable clip, leave this right here: 13541747519

Do you have pics of dismantling of your e30? I want to see the fire wall get beat up.

On my Alpina clone I thought I beaten the fire wall back enough. Where the m30 head area needed more love. I was able to push back with out trying to pull out the engine.

What would you like pictures of? I expect in a week to get the driveline out. It will take another week to clean that filthy bay.

While the clutch slave was out, I thought why not rebuild it for fun and the peace of mind. I wouldn't like to revisit this once the car is put back together. I searched for a rebuild kit only to notice Turner Motorsport had an OE clutch slave for the price of a rebuild kit! It was marked down from $105! I ordered it. Besides, that transmission is so clean, I wouldn't want to dirty it with used parts.

Don't give it up. Be a good steward of the ACS catalog!

Sending these in for MEPEH service:

Too much life going on otherwise. The M30 is totally ready to drop in.. just need to get the M20 out of the way.
