So I've had this car for quite some time, got it as a project car with my dad in '03. It's been through a bunch of different stages, see below (I'll skip the 4 years that it was bone stock)-

At this point it was awesome- super loud, stupid fast and also completely pointless. I'd built a car that was completely impractical, too fast for my experience @ the track, and honestly really tough to enjoy. After buying an e39 m5, that was/is more enjoyable as a street car I decided that I wanted to build the e30 into a truly usable car... so it's turning into a Spec e30. I've been around racing for a few years now, used to be full time wrenching on Spec Miata's, now part-time doing engineering with a Conti ST team, and building the e30 into a race car just makes sense for me right now.
I wasn't planning on making a thread, but I was finishing tearing the car apart tonight and it's kind of funny seeing it this way compared to what it has looked like previously. I also wanted to document the cage build, starting tomorrow, and some other racekor build stuff that you don't see enough of on here. So here's the current state:

Gotta weld some brackets back into the engine bay unfortunately. Seemed like a good idea at the time!

I had the back half cage done a couple years ago and hoping the finish the front up this weekend. Doing Nascar bars and foot protection on both sides, my friend that's going to be telling me what to do is an experienced cage builder so I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out. I'll try to keep updating steadily
