86 325 es 2jz build

Late to update, but got the other side done last weekend as well ( for the most part, i have to fix something underneath still), just havent had time to grind it a bit and make it pretty.

The big parts left to weld are my trunk ( cut out the spare), fix a spot in the pass rear wheel well, and then the driverside side skirt. I hope to have these all done within two weekends, tho that might be optimistic.

I am in miami for ultra this weekend, so i likely wont update till next weekend as i probably wont get anything done this coming week.

If anybody still cares, finally got to work on the car again. Mixed w some medical reasons, and then my dad buying an lsb m3 that needed some work, ive been slacking on the car.

Final got that hole done.













Plan is to work on it tomorrow and sunday, welding the front pass side.

Great work so far!! I have similar rust, actually probably more in my Alpine White E30 325is...hope its not that big of a pain in the ass. I said the same thing when I pulled the carpet, couldn't believe the amount of rust that was hiding in the corners.



I actually finished rust repair on my other E30 and had it painted(Calypso). Let me know if you need a hand, I'm up in Bergen!

Thanks! Yea i was kinda ticked, as there was a bunch of filler so i didnt notice how bad it was. Luckily my skill has improved so now its not to bad.

Haha yea its slower going than i thought, tho a lot of the body rust wasnt obvious prior to pulling the carpets out ( i knew it was there, just not the extent). Plus figured id have better time management but i keep getting distracted ( by others/ myself).

You do everything yourself? I also see your local, would love to see your car sometime/ also probably bother you w questions about fuel systems/ things u wish u did better.

Curious also how much power you are putting down and wheel/ tire setup.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, e30 has been taking a bit of a back seat while the csl airbox was going in. Then my truck exhaust started falling off so I ended up replacing that, only for that to turn into a nightmare (pos toyota bolts were rusted to shit). I had two nuts left on the last header only to have the stud snap when the bolt was half way off. But so now the m3 is tuned, the truck runs again (tho still with a snapped stud), and the e30 is back on the menu. I welded a bit more on it prior to starting the csl conversion, but nothing major, plan on finishing the corners of the driver/passenger footwell this weekend. If I have time, I want to start the trunk as well, tho that might not get touched till next week/end. Once those are done, ill be ordering the engine to start fitment (plan is to turn the car into a run stand to make sure it works, then work on fitment of everything like brake booster etc).

Some of the patches ive been working on, filled a lot of holes today, painted over some of my previous work as well. Very satisfying to see fresh paint on the interior, brightens it up a lot. Not necessarily the prettiest, but damn solid. Plan for tomorrow is to finish the passenger foot well and figure out the best way to do the side of the well.

Sorry for disappearing for a while guys, been busy as per usual, though moving forward I have time again. This past weekend I actually welded on the car a bit! So finally moving forward again.

In other news my dad is selling is b6 s4 vert with 25k mi, to buy either an mcoupe (s52) or an r32 gtr, so if anybody knows anybody in the market, lmk.
