    1988 325i convertible build

so its been almost a year since i purchased this car and i thought Id attempt keeping track of my build. I have done a lot so far and I hope to slowly record here . I will update as much as I can everyday. I will try to include as many pictures as possible. It aint much but its mine lol.

My search began last year around february 2015. When I started out I was looking for a 1500-2000$ car TOPS . I knew i wanted a 5 spd 325 coupe and I knew i DID NOT want a red car and I DID NOT want a convertible. With that in mind I set off looking for a decent car to start out with. I kept coming across cars that were in seriously bad shape. lots of rust and torn up interiors. I knew I wasnt going to tolerate that so i decided to bite the bullet and spend a little more. LOW AND BEHOLD as im searching the whole country for a vehicle i come across ...... wait for it ........ wait for it ...... a RED CONVERTIBLE that happens to be in incredible shape and in idaho. To make a long story short I go and pull the trigger for 4500$. Now I know some of you may say I overpaid but this car is in pretty good shape w absolutely no rust at all. all original and a 2 owner garaged car. regardless i pulled the trigger on March 16 . here are the initial pics the gentleman sent me.

    and so the fun begins....

the tinkering begins . i immediately went to register the car get an inspection pick up my plates and set up my insurance and off to a quick car wash. she cleaned up nicely. keep in mind i paid 4500 for her so i am starting out with a rust free well maintained vehicle. some may say i overpaid. i personally dont care.

i also couldn't wait to put in the depo hid headlights i had ordered. i also went for tint and mounted the race-land windscreen. I couldn't wait i had stuff here before i even took delivery of the car lolol . anyway thats all for today

Time for new shoes. Now although I really wanted a set of bbs wheels for some reason i let my gf talk me out of them and into a set of 17" chrome beyern mesh wheels. the wheels are awesome dont get me wrong. no vibration at high speeds and seems pretty durable. anyway here she is. She starting to look like a totally different car already

time for a tune up. i know i waited 12 days to get it done but thats the only time bmw had an appt for me.

basically i did the timing belt water pump tensioner new plugs and wires etc etc . a full tune up. parts cost me 600 from bmw and i threw him 100 for the labor. (my cousin is a master tech and doesnt charge me for the labor)

got some parts delivered today. I got my an alpine haed unit and eq from 1988. I had one in my alfa romeo milano back in the day so it was a must have for me. I also picked up some side skirts and an "IS" rear trunk spoiler
