What will be played out before you is my desperate attempts to prioritize my fixes, splurge on extras, and curse the Bavarian Gods when I do things like rip my headliner replacing my sunroof, and sit in Honolulu traffic with not just no A/C, but no blower. H'aole is Hawaiian for "foreigner" but translates more as "white guy". Another H'aole on island is Ken Fritz, proprietor of Island Vintage Workshop. This is who I bought my virgin '91 318i and who guides me on my journey providing parts on a E30 parts scarce island 30 miles wide.

A mashup of present and past. My first E30 was a 91is whom the PO was a butcher. It ended up imploding at the worst time where i was completely strapped for time, going to a Navy school, and dealing with the financial burden of divorce.

I came out to my car one morning over the last couple weeks and a hub cap had wandered off on me, so i took the other three off and am rocking steelies for now. As I mentioned before, parts are ungodly scarce and good wheels are no exception. That's a priority for sure.

When I picked up the car the only rust to be found was the sunroof was thrashed. Randomly, there was one on CL and I scooped it up. No desire to change the color, the black on the silver is cool with me.

The goal is to black out the interior, and the first step was Duplicolor the door cards. Flat on the handles, and gloss on the card itself. They look amazing and are -to me- quite scratch resistant

Where are you stationed? I'm in HI from July 3-20 in a couple months and would be interested in checking out Island Vintage Workshop, I see a couple of e30s running around when I'm there each summer, but I've never gotten together with the few enthusiasts that are on the island.Comment
