    Blake's E30 | M52 Turbo Swap

Hello everyone! I am new to the forums and probably one of the youngest on here doing a m52 turbo swap. Just a little previous information about the car: It previously had a m50 in it swapped by the previous owner. The head gasket/head cracked so we said let's do something new! We found the m52 at a local parts recycling shop. The engine was reported to have 144k miles on it with near perfect compression so we took up the offer!

We had the idea of boosting it so we started to order all performance gaskets, studs, etc. You can see our progress by following along our youtube channel. I will be posting 1-2 videos a week at least about what we are doing. We have a majority of the parts ordered so it should be a fun ride!

I've loved this car so much and have worked a ton to get it to the place it is today. It's going to be an exciting one!

Here is episode 1 one the removal of the m50, the second will show us painting the engine bay and third will begin with the build specs.
Hello guys! This is the first episode of the build. We've made a lot of progress in the past couple of weeks. Sadly I never documented any of it up until now...

Thank you! I've been a photographer for close to 4 years now so I try to show a bit of both of my passions in this process!

The manifold in your video is our M20 manifold. Our shipping dept must have mixed up the boxes that day.

Our records indicate you purchased the 24V T3 manifold not an M20.

We apologize for the inconvenience, please contact us as we have your 24V manifold ready for shipment.

So first we had the manifold issued, but it was quickly resolved.

Now, one of the ARP Head studs snapped off while torquing it. It was properly torqued and still snapped.

Things aren't looking too bright this week.

What lube did you use on the threads, they look dry.

We used the ARP lubricant that came with the studs.

Just put stock headbolts in. They will handle lot of power without problems. I don't understand why everyone wants to use ARP bolts. Even in stock engines when there isn't clearly need for those.
