I bought this 1985 325e about a month ago. It was cheap and i couldnt pass it up at the time, im thinking about doing an i head swap and turbo it in the future.
It ran idle was very rough but it ran. Temp gauge out, tach comes and goes, no reverse, 2nd grinds, and the interior was trashed. Like windows left down in the snow for a week. But for 400 bucks not bad.

Reverse and second gear fixed with just the rear carrier bushing which was styled like the late model shift linkage, I thought it was wierd. I noticed tie rod ends and sway bar end links were shot along with csb. So those are ordered and new plugs oil filter and air filter.
I didnt realise the water damage inside the car for about a week. But I ended up ripping it all out and trashing it. It was bad stained black and moldy cat pissy and holey and burnt.
I'm not sure about redoing the carpet or leaving it out.
I found a mint set of e46 seats to put in but couldn't pull the front seats and they were gone by the next day. But I grabbed the black leather back seat. I needed seats so I found some comfort tan e36 seats for 100 and build brackets. The passengers installed and the driver side is waiting to be installed.
The junkyard was half off today so I had to go and found a set of e39 sport black leather seats in great shape so I made off with them for 55 dollars haha. What a steal.
I've been searching and searching and have not found anything about these fitting in anything but e34s and that was confirmed either.
But I'm going to fit these bad b*these in my e30, and I'm going to try and help anyone else by writing a diy about the swap.
Helpful tip on pulling junkyard electric seats is to wire up 2 9v battery's together and hook them up to the brown (ground) and brown/red (batt +). And all movements are usable.
